  1. You can ask that question all you want, it seems like Reese's Pieces knew what he was doing: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2902735-blue-jays-reese-mcguire-arrest-video-from-public-masturbation-case-released#:~:text=A video showing the arrest,Dunedin%2C %2C per of Sportsnet. Ultimately, I agree, I don't see that he's a big upgrade. His offense did fall off a cliff in 2020, maybe he had blisters on his hands or something.
  2. The same Reese McGuire who whipped his junk out in a parked car during ST? https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/02/blue-jays-catcher-reese-mcguire-arrested.html wildcard, if you don't mind that kind of behavior, that's cool. I don't particularly want someone like that around our impressionable youngsters.
  3. No one's trying to be reasonable here.
  4. Catcher: Push...same two guys. 1st Base: 2021 2nd base: 2020 3rd base: 2021 SS: 2020 OF: 2021 SP: 2021 RP: 2021 I think this team is better than last years. Certainly more upside. As it stands right now I think Hanser Alberto would be a better 2nd baseman but I think Urias might be better in the long run. Iglesias is better but I don't necessarily think it's a huge drop off to Galvis. In the areas that the 2020 team is better, it's not better by leaps and bounds.
  5. What f'ing weather? 30% chance of rain up until 11 am and then it's like 45 degrees and cloudy the rest of the day. As opposed to the 43 degrees and partly cloudy that's forecasted for game time tomorrow.
  6. In the words of Kurt Cobain...mother nature is a whore...
  7. Just got an espn alert. Not. Happy.
  8. It's Opening DAYAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY For me, it's better than Christmas. Christmas lasts one day....baseball is the gift that keeps on giving. What are your favorite Opening Day memories?
  9. Great Bill and Ted's reference there!
  10. That's BS, I was going to sign up for it on Friday (going to a bar to watch opening day tomorrow). I was kind of banking on AT&T to have it. @Sports Guy linked to a site earlier in this thread, I believe, that showed that their 2nd tier package would get you MASN. Let us know if it works if you end up signing up for it.
  11. Those are some good names to be lumped with, ST stats be damned. At this point I'm just excited he hasn't hurt himself yet.
  12. Hard to take this some of this seriously when Kjerstad is 62 and RMC is 63. Kjerstad might have a higher ceiling but someone at BA hasn't been paying attention to everything that he's (not) done since being drafted. Really hoping for Rodriguez to be a top 10 guy this time next year and making his debut next summer.
  13. I'm not necessarily sure how you arrive at this conclusion. You're right that Henderson, Kjerstad and Westburg likely wouldn't be here, that's true. Are you saying that they were picked relatively high in the draft -or in Kjerstad's case, practically at the top of it- and we'd be excited about whoever we picked there anyway?
  14. I think we're splitting hairs here, a bit. I think the pathway would be starter by default and then that would give him the opportunity to be a "real starter." Seems like a logical way forward for Urias.
  15. I don't see why not. Not like he's got a crop of significantly better 2nd baseman that he's got to beat out for the starting role here.
  16. 63 wins or so. One thing I will say about Hyde, his teams fight. They get their brains beat in one day and come back the next like nothing happened. And you've got a lot of young guys on this team with something to prove. This is not a group of veterans mailing it in like the 2018 team.
  17. He's had some bad luck. I can't find his injury history anywhere, but it always seems like a hamstring strain, torn something, etc. IMO, those are conditioning issues. Him missing a flyball and getting donked on the head and getting a concussion is a bad luck byproduct of him being bad in the field. So some of it has been bad luck, some of it is conditioning.
  18. DJ Stewart with a hamstring. Someone get that guy a yoga mat and sign him up for some classes.
  19. Agreed they should have gotten Manny locked up earlier. But I think they knew they weren't going to be able to extend him after the 2016 season. Same with Britton. It had to be done.
  20. I believe you'd hit better than Chris Davis.
  21. Those weren't counting stats, those were rate stats. Unless you're only focusing on the plate appearance thing. I get that you're impatient in wanting to see AR in Baltimore but I don't think we'll have to wait too much longer.
  22. Same genes. But hey, they didn't hire a modern day equivalent of Syd Thrift so there's maybe some reason for hope.
