  1. That was an ass whipping. Complete joy in seeing Stewart and Mountcastle go back to back.
  2. Sure. Even though I'd be super pissed if he's still on the roster in 2021 if there's a short season, I get it. It'd save them some money, and while I disagree that saving some money is more important than competing and getting younger players at bats....I get it. In previous seasons, one could make the argument (I wouldn't) that Davis wasn't taking away significant at bats from some top prospects. But now with the emergence of Mountcastle and Stewart and hopefully a Mancini return next year, there's no good reason to have him around. Elias has to make the Angelos clan understand.
  3. Mullins can't hit lefties as a right handed batter, the disparity in the stats between LHP as RHB and RHP as LHB are pretty significant. I'd be curious to know if he can hit lefties as a lefthanded batter. If so, he might be able to carve out time as an every day player. I still think he's a 4th outfielder, though. But not a bad 4th outfielder to have. DJ Stewart might be coming around, though. I like the patience at the plate, too.
  4. Assuming we're out of the playoffs then, fine. Give him some at bats, send him on his way.
  5. Great, let's see if Austin Hays can play 9 innings without breaking or tearing something. Whoever they move off the roster shouldn't go far, maybe just sit in their car in the parking lot.
  6. If Mountcastle can rake, don't do anything to disrupt him.
  7. I don't want these guys to get used to losing. I don't want them to come up short.
  8. Matusz turned out well but only if he was facing David Ortiz. Arrieta turned out well for someone else. Tillman was good, Britton was good too but unfortunately we didn't hold on to him.
  9. I agree. I want to see these young players step up and deliver. I want to see Kremer continue to do well, I want to see if Akin can bounce back from his last disaster. It's more important to see the youngsters that we already have deliver the goods rather than tanking for some pick. We don't even know how draft order is going to be determined anyway.
  10. As encouraging as this hot streak is, I'm curious to see how he rebounds if he hits a cold streak. I'm glad to see his comments in regards to the things he was able to work on mentally in Bowie and some tweaks to his approach. I am wondering if that stays true for him on his next 2-25 stretch.
  11. Stewart third, Mountcastle 4th. I actually kinda like this lineup.
  12. Dude, what's the obsession with having a top 10 system? Maybe they're not likely to deliver international players in the next three years but so what?
  13. I'd like to see his OBP without the bunts. He's walked 6 times, struck out 22. If you're going to say that his game is OBP, he needs to walk significantly better than 6 times in 81 at bats.
  14. Better all around scouting, development and a significant presence in the international markets.
  15. He's been a better runner than expected, for sure. I am wondering if, in addition to all the newfangled fancy things they're doing with analytics, they're also teaching people to get faster and run better.
  16. Yep, we agree. I'm very happy with who they've got and what they're doing.
  17. This is a good piece but I'm scarred for life by "The Cavalry." I won't call it a fluff piece, but it is...and they talk about the Bowie site and how everything there is amazing and everyone's doing great. I hope it's true.
  18. I'm hoping for more footage, too. I've never really seen much to begin with. There has to be some out there. Obviously televised baseball wasn't huge back then but there's gotta be some clips somewhere. On a similar note, my knowledge of Brooks' defensive prowess is limited to highlights of the 1970 World Series.
  19. That show was the best. I would revolve my Sunday mornings around it when I could. Don't like SNL but I love this one. In regards to the Lupica article, it's pretty harmless. It's certainly a breakdown of how bad the Yankees have fallen, it's not taking shots at the Orioles.
  20. Yes. The roster consists of enough guys that are being looked at as possible long term options that playing well to the end is something that's significant.
