  1. The offense will just probably suck as much.
  2. Wonder who had to go pick up Phil at the nursing home. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/27018053/mets-fire-eiland-name-regan-82-pitching-coach
  3. Yeah, but that's not telling the whole story isn't it?
  4. I was more referring to the Nats being worse. I think we finish worse than them. I agree, I don't think we end up the worst pen....but top 5? I think a spot in the top 10 is pretty secure.
  5. I was at the game on Sunday and felt that they were essentially raising the white flag when going to the bullpen. And when Givens came in, you knew what was going to happen.
  6. Oh give me a break. I mean, I should know better than to reply to you these days but c'mon. Bumping an umpire isn't violent.
  7. A bump is a bump...I mean, c'mon, it's not like he threw a right hook.
  8. I don't care. Bump an umpire, get a game...I mean, whatever. He slammed a helmet, the flung a bat. The umpires acting like they're abused housewives is dumb, too.
  9. atomic you sly old dog, that's EXACTLY what I am saying. Baseball is totally fake, just like the WWF.
  10. Sports fans on message boards are forever equating professional sports and their athletes to "real world workplace" issues.
  11. Well...does Welke $%#! suck?
  12. Little Yaz: https://www.mlb.com/news/mike-yastrzemski-diving-catch-giants-win
  13. I think the Rockies are pretty solid at SS/3B.
  14. Bummer to see Manny struggling. I wanted to see him do well this year and the Padres, too. IIRC they were in 2nd a few weeks ago, now they seem to be slipping.
  15. Glad to see he doesn't look totally inept with the bat right now. I haven't seen all his at bats but it seems like he's going to the opposite field some. I''m wondering if that's a product of design or if he simply can't get around on a fastball. IIRC @Tony-OHhad some squabbles with his bat speed last year.
  16. WTF, who'd order a hit out on him? Unless he's got some shady business dealings.
  17. I agree for the most part. Although part of me thinks that if you've got a shot at doing something only a handful of players have ever done, you figure out a way to do it. I know Nick probably doesn't operate that way and I respect him for that but...I kinda wish he did. I'd like to see him get there.
  18. I was fully prepared to click on it and go into a rage seeing him being left off. I'm glad he's on the list, I don't necessarily disagree with his placement. 700 hits is...man, I dunno. I'd say 3,000 is in sight.
  19. https://www.mlb.com/news/10-best-mlb-right-fielders-of-decade 6) Nick Markakis (BAL 2010-14, ATL 2015-19): Markakis has been around longer than you realize: His rookie year was in 2006. His best seasons were those first years in Baltimore, but he has been remarkably consistent since entering the league. Did you realize Markakis has only missed more than seven games in a season once? Your team is always a little bit better if it has Markakis on it, and that’ll be as true in season 15 as it was in season one.
  20. Yeah, I dunno why you'd roll your eyes at that. I mean, I know you're trying to be cool. But if the Orioles had a guy like that, I'd hope Elias would send a plane for him.
