  1. Doesn't count toward overslot. Advantage is you save money
  2. My gut says yes, but no wouldn't surprise me
  3. His FIP is 3.84, so yes, you're somewhat correct. Still, 3.84 is solid so again I ask, what do you want?
  4. He has a 3.38 ERA since coming to the Orioles, what do you want?
  5. What are we supposed to do, sign Mancini and Odor to five-year extensions? These guys are going to be gone sooner rather than later, and the rest of the club needs to be grown-ass men about it. The sooner Mancini and Odor are gone, the sooner someone who has a future with this club can step up into a leadership role in the clubhouse
  6. Four spots if someone DHs
  7. I will be shocked if Young signs for any amount we can reasonably offer him
  8. Mateo would make a pretty good utility infielder/defensive replacement/pinch runner. Keep him for now and let Gunnar/Holliday take over SS when they're ready
  9. It sounds like multiple teams are interested in Mancini. If so, perhaps a bidding war brings his price out of "give-away" territory and we get an interesting prospect or two
  10. Yeah, I can't imagine Vavra's 2B glove is that much worse than Odor's and his bat is probably much better
  11. Getting the $3.1 million to take Porter would be rough. We'd basically have to save 500K on Holiday, spend the 800K 4.9% overage, 10K all our signings from rounds 5-10, underslot one of our other early picks by 400K and assume no one else in the first three rounds is getting anything overslot
  12. I too wish Elias would draft more pitching. Cowser isn't lighting it up? Have you seen his statline in Bowie? I wouldn't trade Cowser for Martin right now. I don't think anyone would
  13. It is kind of funny to me that the people who hate Elias's draft strategy never complain anymore that we didn't take Austin Martin second overall
  14. Yeah, I get he's not a pitcher, but if you read his writeup, he sounds pretty talented. They must be confident they can fix the holes in his swing
  15. I'm happy with this. It doesn't feel like much if any of a reach. I would have preferred Jones, but there's a ton to like here
  16. I've been pushing for Jones as much as everyone else, but I'm starting to come around to the idea of drafting Johnson underslot. I think a lot of people are sleeping on him and there's a good chance he ends up a better MLB player than Jones. End of the day, I'm still in the Jones camp, but I won't be upset if we take Johnson
