Much better in the 3rd and 4th. He’s starting to fill up the zone with the off speed pitches. Looks like he’s settling in nicely.

Big boy oppo bomb in the afternoon game today. Love his swing.

He seems to be struggling throwing his slider & curve for strikes. Consistently pulling them and leaving them low/outside. Fastball looks live today sitting 96. Has blown a couple guys away. Looks like he is working on locating his off-speed stuff.

Hall is frustrating to watch. He can’t control his fastball and continues to miss badly arm side. 3 BBS and a HBP in 3ip of work. The HBP the C was set up low and away and he plunked the lefty batter up and in. He missed his target by like 3’. No balls were hit very hard off of him. He will strike someone out and make it look easy and then come back and walk the next guy on 4 straight balls. 30/61 strikes is not gonna work. He is his own worst enemy. If he can get a little control he will be a weapon out of the pen. I have to imagine starting is beyond a long shot at this point.

Wrigleyville is a cool part of Chicago. I got to see a Sosa v. McGuire game there back in early 2000s. Had an absolute blast. Seats are small, lotta blocked views, and can’t see the field when you are walking around but it’s a gem of a stadium.

Can’t give a MLB a 4th out. We are going to score here.

The hockey team draws well. They are planning on putting it right on the strip. I imagine they’d have no issues filling seats.

I was legit confused as to what was happening on the field like 5 separate times. It actually made me realize how challenging that job is how some folks are incredibly talented at describing live action.

Today was my first day listening to her on the radio. I thought all the people complaining were exaggerating…. Nope.

Games not over yet…

I think it’s pretty obvious Cowser & Westburg will not be up until the date that was decided well before the season started. I don’t think an injury, great play, or any other occurrence is going to expedite their call up. Not that I agree with what they are doing, but not gonna hold my breath and get bent out of shape that they aren’t here yet.

Willems and Fabian should have a shot at future lists. Norby could be a candidate if he has a second half like last year. Wagner & Beavers could make some noise as well. They could have 5 guys graduate this year and have 6/7 guys on the list going into next season including the #1 prospect. That’s pretty wild. Holiday Mayo Kjerstad Bassallo Willems Fabian

That is my biggest concern. If one (or both) went down we would be in trouble. I’d like to see them add an arm to the bullpen sooner rather than later. I have to believe back end relief help is what they are/will be shopping for. I’m still holding out hope that Hall & Rodriguez can contribute in a meaningful way which will help lighten the load.

This team is been fun to watch and I expect slow and continued improvement throughout the season. There will be some talent infused and the kids will continue to improve. I expect them to play better as the season moves along. I imagine there will be some minor trades to bolster the roster. A major trade isn’t out of the question, but I’m not expecting anything approaching blockbuster at this point. Doesn’t seem to be their MO. I think they continue to slowly and methodically improve the roster mostly internally with a couple outside additions.
