Judge is a reasonable ranking. He was injured last year and missed 1/3 of the season but was still worth more than 5 wins. We’ve seen how dominant he can be with the 62 HR in 22. He’s a passable CF and a solid RF. I’d still take Betts and Acuna over him, but nobody else.

I said no, but I wonder if we see Mateo moved. He didn’t play CF at all last week, despite Mullins being out. There’s not many starts available for him at SS. Only if they wanted to sit Gunnar against a tough LH (5-10 times per year). Unless they move Gunnar around to 3B, there’s nowhere for Mateo to play. It’s nice to have depth, but if the #1 prospect also plays SS we should have it covered.

I think we’ll see 3 LHP. Coulombe, Perez, Vespi.

They should be trading OHearn and Mateo/Urias. I have zero belief they will.

If it were a serious consideration, they’d have to move Urias or Mateo (both of keeping Holliday). Since they gave arb offers to both, and can’t option either, they’ll be on the team until Elias decides to trade them.

Putting Mayo on the OD roster likely involves trading Urias and/or Mateo. It ain’t happening until June at the earliest.

They clearly have no plans to put him in the bullpen to start the season. I would say he’s the first guy to get bumped to the pen if Means/Bradish come back. Of course that also depends on performance.

Not sure what you guys mean by playoffs. They got cancelled last year. That’s what I remember.

I assume it’s gonna look like this. I expect a lot of Hyder playing matchups, so 3 LHP. Kimbrel Cano Coulombe Tate Perez Teheran/Sanchez Vespi Baumann

Maybe a comet strikes next year and we’d be foolish. I’d still say there is a higher likelihood of the extra year being more important than the potential draft pick or 3 extra weeks of ABs this year.

I’m hardly a Baumann fan, but he definitely has more potential than Webb.

It’s not as important as an extra year of control. We didn’t suddenly become the Dodgers since getting rid of the Angelos family. Can’t assume uncle Dave is gonna spend like crazy. I hope they’ve at least explored extension with him, and he sees it as a ticket to start the season in Baltimore.

I wish one of these guys (Mayo, Stowers, Kjerstad, Urias, Santander) could get a little time at 1B. 1. No I think he bounces between 2B and 3B all season. May get some time in LF as injury fill in or if Holliday and Mayo both come up and out hit him. 2. To make OD? Not with Mountcastle and OHearn tying up two roster spots. 3. Odd question. If Mayo didn’t finish up strong in Norfolk would we even be discussing him for OD. I guess if Westburg hadn’t established himself in Baltimore last year, he would not be looked at as favorably but I think what they do with Mayo will be tied in to service time.

With 3B it’s more of a reaction, and not having to run to your right to catch a grounder, so your momentum shouldn’t be carrying you away from 1B.

At SS, in the hole, your momentum is taking you away from 1B. Also, how often is someone making a throw from 3B at the line/grass mark?

Are you sure you played those positions? Throws from 3B are often shallow, which is why it’s the hot corner. Throws from SS are often deep in the hole, making it the longer throw.

He made 8.25 last year. It’s actually a reduction in annual salary. He was productive last year, and considering what SP has been getting on AAV basis, it’s not unreasonable.

I mean, I guess I understand why he’s seeking it, but it would need to be something like 2/16ish for me to consider it.
