The A's signed Aledmys Diaz, joining in on the fun. Andrus replacement?

This is why 2023 simply cannot be another punt year.
By this time next year, we will only have 4 years of the Adley/Gunnar/GrayRod trio remaining.
Right. And arguably, the payroll will never be lower. Choose your free agents wisely, but this should not just be a punt year.

Seems like a lot for Jansen, especially considering the Red Sox probably won't have that many wins for him to close out this year. I mean, who exactly is in their rotation?

I wonder if they are also in on Bassitt, and if not, why

If they truly did offer this deal and Correa turned it down, they better not "sweeten" it. Seven years is way too long as it is.

More silliness from this guy. Take with all the grains of salt you want (I am taking with several)

Realistic options for the pitcher and most mentioned targets have been Bassitt and Taillon. Maybe another name. Can you guys at least wait to panic when those guys get signed by other teams?
I'm honestly expecting us to sign Taillon tomorrow to a four year deal in the $60M range (ugh) and be done until another Mazara=type signing in January/February. But I don't know.

Rosenthal tweet says Rangers have landed Andrew Heaney.
Let's see what they paid after hooking up deGrom.
Should take them out on Rodon. Figure Yankees or Angels or a dark horse team like the Orioles.

Just going to bump this here.
I'm a bit surprised he didn't get a third year...though the AAV is also higher than I originally thought (that said, every deal so far has been higher in some way than I originally thought).
Just a counter move to our big signing of Mazara

Expensive for Cleveland.
Agreed, but relatively low risk with two years (and the opt out).

Cross him off the list. Signs in CLE.

I'll just leave this here.

Is there something I'm missing about Belt? He's pretty washed no?
Oh, I don't really want Belt. WAs just trying to guess who they are after.

LH bat... Belt? Benintendi?

Anyone who's out there, for those still holding out hope for Rodon, Bassitt, and Eovaldi instead of Taillon.

I've been following this guy since the offseason started. Worried he's about as reliable a s Belkast, though.

Don't know who this is, but this is funny.

That is what I meant. 4 spots are currently spoken for with Gibson, GrayRod, Kremer, and Bradish and only 1 spot remains, and Wells will only be given the opportunity to seize it if no other SPs are added or someone gets injured in ST.
I expect that another SP will be added and Wells will start the year in some sort of bullpen role.
This checks out to me.

It'll be really interesting (though not necessarily that important) to see who they start opening day if they don't sign a Bassitt/Rodon level guy.
Agreed on both counts.
