Think the Orioles are super top heavy in the prospect department. You could argue that any of the top 4, are also among the top 30 prospects in all of baseball, but the bottom of the list is very weak, and not really very young. Curious to see if that changes with the FCL season starting and some of the young international bonus players debuting.

Went to the game last night, and had a lot of fun. Brought my own food/water & spent the money on beer. For a 16oz local beer thought the price was reasonable for a stadium (paid several dollars more for a lower quality beer at Merriweather last weekend, and the prices at the PGA in OK this weekend are a lot nother level of crazy). Left at the end of the game and got the souvenir ticket. Just overall a cool atmosphere with all the cheering for Adley, several people around us had bought tickets today for that purpose. And got to see his first hit

He holds his velocity well for at least several innings. Control will be an issue even as a closer. Probably helpful to remember that between covid and injury he's pitched very few real baseball games in the last couple years, and power pitchers tend to take longer to develop control anyways

It's nice to be able to rest guys, and still have someone decent on the bench, but yeah definitely think the Orioles will deal at least one of them (not Rutschman obvi)

I think that's a reasonable statement, I think you want to challenge people but not put them in totally over their heads. That said, the statement I responded to was that he would've been the O's best third baseman last year...and that's not accurate, as bad as the O's third base situation was...it's better then you would have gotten out of 19yo Gunnar (now it's distinctly possible, likely even, he is currently our best option)

Gunnar would've been eaten alive last year. He struggled to adjust to both High-A and Double-A with tons of strikeouts, and made a bunch of errors. Development is important, he worked and got better.

The catching three days in a row seemed to be a thing for some reason. This checks it off. I think he gets tomorrow off and debuts Saturday. Maybe I’m being optimistic

I get that, and it makes me REALLY excited...I think that actually makes me more excited then the raw numbers. But I think it's alright to see if the changes last for 12 weeks before a promotion rather then 6. A half a season at double-A wouldn't be slow playing him

I get people's impatience, but Gunnar is *really* young. If he debuts in mid-April of next year, he'll debut at the same age as Witt Jr. Wanting him to play half a season (at least) in double-A isn't (I think) unreasonable. He's also doing many thing a lot better then last year, but I think it's reasonable to give it a larger sample size, it's not like he tore up high-A last year.
