The orioles can keep 14 pitchers until the end of may. I would suspect both cuts will be position players
(they might swap relievers too, but not for roster size purposes)
Zero. He's going to turn down 8.8 million to go to college for three years to, at best, go #1 again? I'm not going to be insulting and offer 7m, but going overslot would be silly
I think it's fairly telling that Gutierrez isn't being used as a PH, and Nevin is starting over him. That said I'd be perfectly happy to see Odor/Owings go. Orioles are currently at 14 pitchers, so I think cuts will come from the position guys
Played SS last night, and this was a nice play. I would somewhat imagine just how good of a prospect he is is tied to how much you believe he can handle SS defensively.
Per Ellias that’s never going to happen. Catchers have more days off then any other position player, and the defense tends to hurt the offense. So the plan for Adley is to have him catch only 60-70% of the time, with him also playing 1b to keep his bat in the lineup
I don't think any ML organization puts out day to day reports on prospects, or detailed day by day rehab plans. I do wish that a reporter or someone had asked when Adley wasn't in the line-up yesterday.
To really guarantee a player won’t reach super 2, the orioles would have to keep them in the minor’s until we’ll into June. From what Elias has said, that does not really seem to be the current plan.
I didn’t say down, I said he was overlooked a bit. And the fact that his thread wasn’t started until April 20th is an example of what I’m talking about (and I’m including myself).
You can keep another player on the roster who you can actually use. In this case the Orioles have an extra reliever in the bullpen that they will have to take off the MLB roster as soon as they add another SP
