  1. Ugh feel better, hope you have access to some soup
  2. I mean this statement isn't really accurate as to what's been occurring, and Lyles probably isn't who I'd take out of the rotation anyways
  3. Kevin Brown could not have any more disdain for that homerun (and I'm here for it)
  4. Triple-A has the expanded rosters, and Vavra is out, he's insurance I guess. But if I was Stewart I would want to find a different org. Not sure how that works though, if he's allowed to refuse?
  5. Honestly this line-up is mean if you're a High-A pitcher. Adley has now doubled, Mayo has homered, even Cowser has a hit. SP has been removed
  6. I'm very curious about Bradish's start tomorrow, if the Orioles are looking for him to start Saturday, might only go a couple innings
  7. Per roch: announcers live on the road starting tonight
  8. You definitely don't, Mountcastle and Mancini rotate exclusively between DH and 1B when they're in the lineup - but that's part of what really clogs it up when Adley comes up
  9. The rotation works, assuming you want all 6 to get roughly the same number of AB's (Hays and Mullins never rotate in as DH though). It wouldn't work if Adley was up though, as he'll also need some of those 1b/dh starts. Also if you're doing that sort of rotation you want your other bench players either to be IF, or a player who needs very few AB's/starts
  10. I don't like Harvey's actions, and no I don't think it's ok to offer someone highly addictive drugs, especially someone you know is struggling...BUT I'm not sure what purpose additional punishment would serve
  11. Can he? If so, yeah you don’t need a third, and you can bring up a Nevin-type (and keep Odor, as your backup MI). Or you drop Odor and keep Owings or Martin Also if the orioles think Martin is better then Owings, you release Owings and call up Martin. They’re somewhat interchangeable, although I would have liked to see Martin moved around positionally in tripleA.
  12. It will be interesting to see what they do. If Ellis goes on the DL, I think they bring up a reliever, probably Wells, in the short term. Ellis' next scheduled start is Saturday. If they want Bradish to take that turn, I could see him only throwing a couple innings on Wednesday. Or they could keep Bradish on a regular schedule, have him make the Triple-A start Wednesday, and then come into the Orioles rotation next Monday/Tuesday. But that would mean needing to cover Saturdays start
  13. Who else can play SS (besides Mateo)? Gutierrez is a good defensive 3b, but he can't play any other positions (other then 1b), and he's never hit enough to be a full time 3b. Nevin can't really play 3b, and the Orioles don't need another 1b/dh on the roster
  14. If the orioles were trying to win in 2020 they’d have brought in a major league catcher, not turned the catching job over to a guy who hadn’t even played in double-a.
  15. I would assume the next roster move is for a reliever, and if Bradish is recalled it won’t be till the day of the game he’s starting anyways
  16. Mancini has been hitting the ball very hard, and running into bad luck....so this was inevitable. But also out of the ballpark really negates fielding
  17. Lakins, this is part of why he's in the bullpen...so you have someone to eat innings. Decent chance Lakins will then get sent down for maybe Wells tomorrow, could also see Ellis to DL
  18. So Bradish against the Red Sox at the yard next weekend? Having to cover 9 innings out of the bullpen is why you have a guy like Lakins though
  19. I think we're interpreting this differently. I took it to mean they didn't have a set plan, where he had to stay for a week in Aberdeen. I suspect if he strikes out 4x, then they'd figure he didn't have his timing back yet...but if he's making good swing decisions and squaring up balls, then his timing is coming back
  20. For what it's worth, Roch said he was told boxscores would help dictate how fast he (Adley) moved
  21. For the same reason major league players have spring training, and go on minor league rehab assignments. If you haven't played in a while you need to get your timing back, get back in a game environment etc...and those things are generally easier to do against an easier level of competition. you thinking a week in aberdeen, week in Bowie, week in Norfolk? I could see that...basically a spring training
  22. Owings might be gone, especially if the Orioles need a 40man spot, but two of the pitchers have to go. Currently Orioles have 15 on the roster
  23. Will be interesting to see what happens when May roster crunch rolls around. Roster has to be reduced to 26, and max of 13 pitchers. Watkins and Ellis have done well as fill in starters, but you have to think they, along with Lakins are on the hot seat.
