  1. I was there. That’s a throw Gunnar makes in his sleep. Petition a change! That was a throwing error! Gunnar knows it!
  2. Completely agree but only if Mateo isn’t traded at the deadline. I could see him shipped off after increasing his value while other teams like the Dodgers get desperate to trade. They’ve got a lot of talent that would be advantageous for us to increase and bolster our window of opportunity.
  3. And suddenly Mateo’s value skyrockets!
  4. I’ll be there on April 3rd in Dallas to hopefully catch one of those early wins of which you speak. Look for my father, brother and I right behind the O’s dugout.
  5. Maybe la or Houston will get desperate?
  6. That is the question. The kid can clearly mash, but how is his glove? Defense up the middle is just as important as the bat. Maybe more so to Elias. Perhaps they feel he needs more seasoning there? Who knows. Frazier’s glove is solid as he has proven that over the years so the onus is on Westburg to progress rapidly there if that’s what is holding him back. I still think we see much more movement than we saw with Odor last year. I’m thinking much like last year, the lineup we field to start the season will be very different from the one we see as we march on to the playoffs for the first time in a long time.
  7. I know but that’s what he said.
  8. Saw an interview where he talked about his wrist hurting. Seems like it is definitely having a toll on his bat. Maybe we see a reverse hays situation. His first half is sluggish, gets some time off, heals and heads into a strong second half push for rookie of the year. No idea.
  9. At this point, what do you guys think of Stowers? If this is the real Heston, man, there are going to be some interesting trades and decisions to be made at the trade deadline. Cowser is the walk God, Santander looks like he’s still recovering from his knee contusion. And McKenna still looks like a AAAA player. You’re right though, way too early to tell about any of these guys but man with all Heston has been through, it’s incredibly exciting to see him take the next step in his game.
  10. Man, these guys are playing quite well. At this point, I like Lewin as the backup first baseman and Terrin as your utility infielder. Heston is playing so well right now that I’d love for him to jump up quick so we could see him on the team this year. He’s just locked in! Very exciting to see all this young talent kicking ass so quickly.
  11. Locked on orioles is ok because it’s nearly daily content so there’s that as well. Agree with On the Verge, best content on the Orioles in my opinion.
  12. The fact that Elias is a trump guy makes me like him more. The fact that Drelich throws politics in a book about baseball makes me like him less. The fact that Drelich insinuates Elias cheats on his wife is kind of despicable without proof. I will not be reading his work but I do appreciate the summation by all of you. Glad to have Elias aboard!
  13. He owns the team. He isn’t the team. Haven’t you seen Major League?
  14. I’m telling you guys, our team believes they make it to the World Series. They know much better what they have. Time to start believing too.
  15. I just have a feeling we are going to see Irvin make a huge step up for us. I think Gibson will be Lyles 2.0, same production and steady throughout the year. I think we will get regression from Kremer and progression from Bradish. I don’t think Means will be a huge boost coming back from TJ. I think we will make a trade of Mateo and Hays to further our depth and let loose our young prospects and I’ll just make a wild call out, I think we see Povich and Hall start this year at some point in the second half. I also think Rodriguez is going to prove to folks why he is such a highly rated prospect. He has the arm, poise, and familiarity to come in and supplant as a true dominant ace. We will see flashes of that this year. We win 90+ games and will see a lot of new faces after the trade deadline, mainly Cowser, Westburg, and Ortiz.
  16. Low expectations, easy way to happiness. Negative expectations, easy way to depression.
  17. It was foolish for him to think that a guy who’s never played first ever would suddenly be the back up to Mountcastle. At least he finally admits it.
  18. I’ve been trying to tell y’all we are going to be platoon heavy and playing the best match up against whomever we will be facing. We have depth across the board to make that happen. We are going back to Weaver ball baby!
  19. Joey Potter? Joey “Gandalf” Ortiz? Merlin? If Joey is the Wizard, who is tin man, scarecrow, lion, Toto and Dorothy? Can we now refer to Camden yards as Oz or is that too close to that old HBO show? Can we start calling the trade deadline The Wire?
  20. Vavra is in the same boat as Westburg though. The bat is there, but can they trust the glove? Defense at second is more vital this year than years past. I think Elias is hedging his bets here to go with the sure thing in Frazier's glove in hope that Westburg and Vavra can continue their development. The thing not focused on is in my opinion the thing most vital to Elias making the decision to acquire Frazier and its the lack of shift and the greater importance of defense up the middle. Frazier has proven that he can at least do that. Will the bat regress? Was last year's offensive production what we can expect this year? No idea, but his experienced defense is something we can rely on. Westburg and Vavra, by most accounts, still need to iron that out.
  21. That's not really it though. This is deeper that I frankly don't understand.
