  1. They are also: -2nd in Runs (94) -4th in OPS (.807) -2nd in SB (24) -6th in HR (22) -3rd in BBs (78) I didn't check the pitching stats, so I'll just assume those look pretty great as well. But in all seriousness, this is pretty cool for a team that has often struggled with OBP over the years. (I didn't see Frobby's post until right after I posted this. Mods feel free to delete this thread.)
  2. I would love to see the O's take 2/3 here. This is their easiest stretch of the season and a time where we need to rack up some wins and momentum. The White Sox are one of the better teams we play during this month, it'd be nice to see us outclass a decent team.
  3. Urias has a .969 OPS against RHP this season. He has a .785 OPS against RHP in his career. Dude gets no respect around here.
  4. That's fair. And, to clarify, I don't think Watkins and Zimmerman are the solution to all our problems. But Voth is still the oldest of the three (not by much) and has had the most opportunities in the big leagues (over 100 innings more than Watkins or Zimmerman). So if he continues to pitch poorly and either of the other two continue to pitch well in Norfolk, I say why not give em a shot.
  5. They were talking about how he's seeing a lot more breaking balls this year and it's been a struggle. Every one of his hits has been off a fastball.
  6. It seems like every time Voth comes in from the pen he struggles in his first few batters and then settles in around his second inning. Maybe he just works better as a spot starter? Either way, he's been terrible. I'm tired of it. I'd rather watch DL Hall or Spencer Watkins (2.70 ERA in Norfolk) or maybe even Bruce Zimmeraman (3.86 ERA in Norfolk). I just don't have much hope left for Voth. He's almost 31, he's got a 5 ERA and a 1.4 WHIP for his career. I know this is a bit of an overreaction, but what ever.
  7. I feel like he just tired out at the end of last night's game. That being said, I was glad they gave him a shot at that last batter. He was a ground ball away from having back-to-back 5 inning starts and a 3.60 ERA. I'm excited to watch more GrayRod.
  8. I think Grayson looks like he's going to be really good, actually. He's got some of the best stuff I've seen in an Oriole uniform for a while. Now Austin Voth? Yea, I'd say "total ass" is fair.
  9. I like that different parks have different dimensions. It is one of the idiosyncrasies of MLB that help spice up a 162-game season. That being said, they should probably move the wall in a little...
  10. It's not my favorite home run celebration around MLB this season, but I'm glad to see the players having fun. The "Long Dong Bong" and "Lord Walltimore" are two terms that would make no sense to an O's fan a couple years ago. Now they're just part of seeing a game at Camden Yards lol
  11. The thing that stood out to me the most was the new pick off rule. Frazier drew two pickoff attempts. Then, because of the new rules, he was able to take a ridiculous lead and steal 2nd without even bothering to slide. To me, this seems like it could have a bigger effect than it indended to. The percent of time catchers successfully throw out runners is going to fall dramatically. At least we've got a superstar catcher and two of the best base-stealers in baseball to take advantage of these new rules.
  12. Yea maybe. I see it more as taking some pressure off. Like alright kid, today we just want you to focus on hitting and soak it all up. But I guess it depends on how he feels about it.
  13. I like the lineup. Smart to let Gunnar ease into his first Opening Day as a DH, and have Urias/Mateo/Frazier each play their best positions.
  14. It would be kind of funny if, after an entire offseason of speculating about lineups, rosters, platoons, and what not, the O's just swung a major trade hours before opening day. "Jorge Mateo and Austin Hays to the Dodgers" or something like that.
  15. I'm excited for the City Connect jersey. It has been fun watching other teams release them over the past couple years. The Nationals one, with the cherry blossoms, looked really cool.
  16. 87 and they claim the final AL Wildcard spot.
  17. I've been reading for months how, if you squint hard enough, and if he bounces back from last year, and if he plays some outfield, Adam Frazier makes this team a little better. As someone who is pretty high on both Urias and Vavra. And as someone who absolutely wants to see Westburg and Ortiz in the bigs this year... I'm already sick of Frazier and the season hasn't started yet.
  18. There were times last year that Bradish looked like the most talented pitcher on the team. Also, it will be cool for Grayson to make his debut in his home state of Texas.
  19. I'd realy like to see Stowers get a shot before we move on to Cowser and Kjerstad.
  20. Mexico could have used Ramon in that loss against Columbia. It was Luis Urias' 10th inning error at 2B that cost them the game. Our boy, Ramon makes that play everytime. Excited to watch Urias this year. He's one of my favorite Orioles.
  21. It was also cool to see Danny Valencia batting cleanup for Team Israel.
  22. I think Dean Kremer will lead the O's starting pitchers in WAR in 2023. I think he should start opening day. It'll probably be Gibson, though.
  23. I think Boston is going to be awful this season.
