  1. At the game. Stanton was jogging after about 30 feet. He runs even a little, he is safe.
  2. Always great to hear the coach has your back!
  3. He might be down on Urías a bit but they might be using Valaika more to try and get a little more power from his bat. Could also be a case of “use Pat and then DFA him while keeping Urías around” type of thing.
  4. From Rich’s blog: “Flaa cleaned up his arm path over the winter and noticed an increase in his velocity and sharpening of his pitches. He made physical and mental changes and got noticed.”
  5. Has anyone seen Sisco and Pudge Rodriguez in the same room?
  6. McKenna was optioned. For infielders, the ones currently on the 40 that are in the Alternate site are: Rylan Bannon Jahmani Jones Richie Martin Tyler Nevin Pat Valaika Bring out the dart board.
  7. He will be optioned, not DFA’ed.
  8. How dare you keep an open mind and not dislike everything that happens...
  9. Good question. Who is added to the 40? Instead of optioning someone, they DFA’ed someone...
  10. *To the theme of “FRIENDS” ”So everyone told you the season was gonna be this way, your pitchings a joke, your owner acts broke, your status is ‘DFA’ed’...”
  11. Per Roch: Dean Kremer worked 2 1/3 innings yesterday in an alternate site game against the Nationals in Bowie and allowed two runs and five hits with two walks and three strikeouts in an 11-5 win. He threw 58 pitches. Kremer is eligible to return to the active roster on Wednesday. Conner Greene retired all six batters with four strikeouts. Cody Carroll and Evan Phillips each has a scoreless innings. Austin Wynns hit another home run. Stevie Wilkerson had a double and triple, Ryan Ripken doubled twice and Rylan Bannon singled twice. Yusniel Diaz and Richie Martin were 1-for-4 with a double. Jahmai Jones was 1-for-3 and Brett Cumberland was 1-for-2 with a double and two walks.
  12. Roch is posting bits from the recent game. Hoping he posts a blog with the total breakdown so I don’t have to paste 15 Twitter posts in here.
  13. Per Hyde, that was Severino who was supposed to get down to 3rd. Just saw the play. Yeah, that’s on Severino. On sac bunts like that, corner infielders are “crashing” in on the plate and their job is to get the ball. That’s why the second baseman rotates to first and with a runner on, the shortstop covers second incase of a force. The catcher, if he isn’t getting the ball, goes to third for this exact reason that Leon used, while the pitcher covers the plate. Sort of like how a first baseman covers second and the catcher covers first when the shortstop and second baseman are both going for a fly ball in the outfield.
  14. Didn’t seem so bad last night when Miami pinch hit the pitchers spot...With another pitcher, with 2 outs in the 9th.
  15. Two reasons for Diaz: Taxi Squad players still workout and take batting practice with the team, the only thing they don’t do is play. They still get the rest of that experience where they hit, field, ect with MLB coaches right now. The other reason is why Hyde had McKenna on the last trip or two: Get him used to the daily MLB schedule, with travel, hotel, meetings, workouts, ect so that he has hit feet wet when he first gets “The Call.”
  16. That’s due to them being on the Taxi Squad for the Texas/Miami trip and traveling with the MLB squad. Left Friday and there have been 2 “alternate” games since.
  17. If Valdez gets the out here, the 3rd batter in the 9th for the Marlins is the pitcher spot and their bench is empty. Should be fun to see...
