The alternative would have been for the offense to let Weaver mow them down, throwing 8 innings of 1-run ball.

If we hadn't knocked Weaver out early, we wouldn't even be in this game.

The Yankees did the last time we played them. Same situation and they brought in some scrub with a high 4 ERA and Robertson was out in the pen resting his rear end.
