Red Sox hit a bunch of bombs to win it all last year, wasn't small ball like some people, not you keep implying.

Exactly right....and actually, it was Ortiz. He was so locked in and scary last year, that opposing pitchers would start walking the Sox' 8 and 9 hitters out of fear of giving them anything to hit in case the lineup rolled around to Ortiz. It isn't often that a single player has that kind of influence on a baseball series.
