    • Akin has shown himself to be a guy who can be very good for months at a time but may not be able to hold it all year.  Baumann is a complete box of chocolates from one outing to the next.  I’d choose Akin.
    • You seem to be operating under the assumption that McKenna is unable to field even routine fly balls to the outfield, and Pillar never misses anything. I'm guessing this error was just an AI deepfake and would never happen if Pillar was an Oriole.
    • Who the better pitcher between Akin and Baumann? I would say Akin because you never want to be in a position to pitch Baumann in a high leverage spot whatsoever.
    • If you don’t like Pillar or Hicks that’s one thing, but if you’re evaluating McKenna for what his role should be as a late game defensive sub, then you have to say that he’s failed to make two routine plays that have directly impacted the game. His calling card and expertise for us is that we need him to be a trusted defensive specialist.  There’s no trust there with McKenna. Hence, why we didn’t see him last night as a defensive sub with a lead. So if it’s not Hicks, then maybe we consider Daniel Johnson or another option.
    • The bats are only a positive if they can fully adjust/acclimate to big league pitching by the time the postseason starts. It is not a given (as we have already seen with Holliday) that they just come to the show and immediately take off.
    • Honestly, I think a Big Boogs is worth the price.  I compare stadium food to what I would get at a restaurant, and at a high-end smokehouse, I’d spend close to $20 for a BBQ sandwich.  Granted……for that same price at home with my meat slicer, I can probably get enough to last me a months worth of work lunches, but again, I rate stadium prices different.   I’m hesitant to suggest this, but Deddle’s Doughnuts behind 78/80 is worth the price.  $10 for the small box, $18 for the large, and you can get the doughnuts with a choice of glaze, topping and sauce.  For a gourmet doughnut, I’d put them up with anyone.   The new chicken place at the city Eutaw Street entrance is pretty good this year too and worth the price.  I do want to try the smash burger and the pupusaria soon ****Forgive me on the prices, I do get the STH discount so I might be quoting my prices.
    • Two plays in two years. I'm guessing that fans of the eight (!) teams he's been on in the last five years can come up with some games where Pillar didn't come through for them. If not, then why didn't he stick with any team for longer than one partial season since the start of 2019? As for Hicks, it's pretty clear that the O's got the very best 65 games he's given anyone since 2019. Since the start of 2021 he's had about a .600 OPS when not in an O's uniform. And I don't know that I'd count on the pixie dust to magically come back if the O's inexplicably signed him.
