0-4 When Lavarnway Starts

Coincidence? I'd say this experiment has failed. SSS and all but really what does this guy offer that Clevenger or Ward doesn't? Oh that's right we traded Ward. He's caught Tillman 2/4 GP. Clearly Tillman doesn't like throwing to Joseph. Last year Hundley was pretty much his personal catcher. Is Fernando Lunar available?

Lavarnway caught the rain shortened game last Monday in Boston where Chen and Manny made errors and allowed runs. Lavarnway did make an error that allowed one run but it was not the determining factor in the game.

He also caught the game where Snider allowed the ball to go off the top of his glove. It was first called a error and four unearned runs scored. But MLB changed the error to a hit and Tillman ERA ballooned.

I don't know that either of these losses were Lavarnway's fault.

Lavarnways first game was in Tampa where the Rays beat the O's 2-0. Lavarnway only gets 1/9th of the blame for the O's not scoring a run.

Its probably worth watching to see if Lavarnway pitch calling and defense cause problems but I would not draw any conclusions at this point.

Perhaps we can pry Ward away from the Dodgers for a top draft pick? :scratchchinhmm:

Shouldn't we be keeping an eye on all aspects of the franchise, not just the ones that have a tiny chance of becoming meaningfully destructive/messianic based extrapolation of microscopic samples?

I think being 0-4 because the starter allows 7 or more runs is more of a cause for concern.

Yes.

We're also 0-4 in our last 4 games, 2 of which Caleb Joseph caught:

It might be Lavarnway.

It might be that the Orioles have just sucked lately.

Or it might be a combination of both.

Or it could be that the Devil done come to get the soul he been promised couple years back.

The Devil was in eastern Massachusettes.

Then he went to Milwaukee.

And then, the Devil went down to Georgia.

He is constantly following the Braves' franchise, and making sure that they win one and only one World Series in every city that they play in.

I just logged in with the intent of posting a thread called "I've seen enough of Ryan Lavarnway". So this works out nicely.

He's basically no good. We can't win a game when he's calling pitches, he doesn't seem to catch any balls thrown to him when there's a play at the plate (although Caleb has been guilty of this too, and there have been bad throws as well), and he hasn't hit a lick.

It's time to bring back the Cleaver, or somebody. This isn't working.

We can always try to coax Greg Zaun out of the Blue Jays' broadcasting booth.

I don't think that Toronto pays attention to those tampering rules anyway, even if it does apply here.
