They will have plenty of room after the pending free agents become free agents. I expect they will retain some of the players you mentioned.

Sure. But they will still drop the majority of that group, since most of them are out of options and can be retained on minor league deals.

In what sense is Johnson a rotation candidate? He made one start this past year and it was an emergency start that wasnt particularly long.
