I think they area a fading entity.

Since 1976 the Yankees have dominated the Orioles. 23 v 6 seasons of Playoff appearances. 11 v 2 American League Pennants and 7 v 1 World Series Championships.

And for as much ch as they spend, their ownership puts the revenue on the field, not just n their pocket.

So for whatever your heart says about the Yankees, the head says they routinely make good decisions. 1965-1974 were down years and during the bad years of 1982 -1994 they had 6 winning seasons and multiple 90+ wins seasons.

Their farm system has out produced the Orioles in the last years, too.

Hate leads to the dark side.

Or Yankee love leads to it. The Yankees are not what they were pre lux tax and with the new draft. Live with it. George is gone.

Hey Abbott. Lets just Talk Buck and Dan years. Shall we?

I think it's fair to say Buck is the best O's manager since Earl. He's gotten more out of the last 5 years than anyone has a right to expect.

Dan is a different story. First, his draft choices have yet to have major league impacts. Too soon and 3 of his last 4 1st round picks have been HS. Cheaper usually than college but needing a bigger investment of time.

2nd, his desire to leave last year and the clubs denial make me wonder if he has a personal commitment to this team or is it just professional

3rd, last off season and this off season have been disappointing. Minimal improvements.

I hate to say it but Cashman is better than Dan.

I don't think Dan has much to do with the draft choices since, from what I understand, it isn't the industry standard to have the GM's run the draft. As for cost, you may not have noticed it but they introduced a slotting system a few years ago. Dan has been spending pretty much all the money he has had in his pool, so you can't get away with calling him cheap on the draft.

I think Davy did a dang fine job here too, not trying to take anything away from Buck.

We did have had a string of clowns after Earl and before Buck, but not all of them were bad.

Davy had the highest payroll in the league to work with. Great guy.
