Oddest tear down rebuild ever.

Anyone notice how well the Braves have been hitting lately? They averaged 5.00 runs/game in August, after averaging 3.48 prior to August. Freddie Freeman (1.148 OPD, 9 HR) and Ender Inciarte (.956 OPS) each had a monster month, and Nick Markakis chipped in with 21 RBI.

They lost one of their top prospects for the rest of this season and the AFL.

Not a big deal. He should be healthy before Spring Training. And if not - the kid still hasn't turned 20 - and they have young Jace Peterson to fill in in the meantime. I'm not sure what their plans are for Peterson once Albies is ready. They also have another young Peterson coming up in a year or 2 - Dustin.

Ex-O Brandon Snyder takes a few hacks at the new digs.

(SEPTEMBER 30th)

The Braves have gone 10-1 over their last 11 games.

They have been playing like a buzz-saw.

o

In an otherwise dreary season, the Braves went 20-10 over their final 30 games of the season.

In the process, they knocked the Tigers out of the post-season on the final series of the season, and made the red-hot Mets work harder than they wanted to to secure a home-field playoff game by sweeping them one week earlier.

They were 9-28 when they fired Fredi Gonzalez. They actually were at least a fairly half decent team the last 125 games of the season.

That earned 61 yo interim manager Brian Snitker a full time gig.

NL East could be pretty interesting next year, if the Philly and Atlanta youth movements continue to bear fruit. Mets and Nats look to be good again.

Maybe it's a good thing the O's interleague games next year are primarily against the NL Central.

NL Central is going to be weak with the Reds and Brewers not being good. Pirates and Cards might be good, and the Cubbies are gonna be a buzzsaw
