1st: (4): Brian Matusz, LHP, San Diego (Matusz)

2nd (50): Tyler Ladendorf, SS, Howard CC (Avery)

Fills the massive void up the middle and also provides us with a legitimate speed prospect. Was hoping for Logan Forsythe to fall.

3rd (81): Scott Gorgen, RHP, UC Irvine (Hoes)

Most Underrated Pitcher In The Draft IMO. Statistically Successful With The Best Changeup In College Baseball. I like the Hoes selection a lot barring we sign him. It'll be hard.

4th (116): Austin DiCharry, RHP, Texas HS (Hudson)

Love His Curveball, But After Safe, Signable Picks In Ladendorf and Gorgen, We Would Have The Money To Possibly Go Over Slot for DiCharry.

5th (148): Peter Andrelczyk, RHP, Coastal Carolina (Miclat)

Flame-Throwing Senior Closer Should Rise Fast Through The Minors.

6th (176): Nate Recknagel, 1B, Michigan (Zagone)

Another College Senior Has Great Power Stroke

Interesting... it certainy is fun to see how we would do were we making the choices. One thing to bear in mind is that we are unaware of the circumstances regarding many of those top players that were not chosen... it seems most were unsignable or had other issues. You did okay in my book. :)

This is who I would have selected rather than who was taken...

After finding out that Tim Melville, Ross Seaton, Harold Martinez and other HS'ers were considered unsignable, I switched off of them. I'll make my choices based on who DOES appear signable, or players that were picked in the draft after the O's picked. I would take a 'flyer' on Seaton, Martinez as early as R7.

1:4> Justin Smoak, 1B, South Carolina (Matusz was still a heckuva pick)

2:4> Tyler Ladendorf, SS, Howard (TX)

3:4> Tim Murphy, LHSP, UCLA

4:4> Zach Putnam, RHP, Michigan

5:4> Chris Dominguez, 3B, Louisville

6:4> Jordan Danks, CF, Texas

After finding out that signing Melville isn't really an option, I went with

1: Justin Smoak, 1B, South Carolina

2: Tyler Ladendorf, SS, Howard College

3: Roger Kieschnick, OF, Texas Tech

4: Scott Gorgen, RHSP, UC-Irvine

5: Daniel Webb, RHSP, High School

6: Alex Buchholz, SS, Delaware

Both very interesting.

I'd only shy away from Dominguez in your draft, Greg. He's just too much of an injury concern.

I love your inclusion of Scott Gorgen, Kakes. He will be a major league star one day IMO.

And I think we all agree Tyler Ladendorf would've been an ideal pick at 50
