This isn't 1970. Pitchers today (or pitching coaches) will throw any pitch in any count, doesn't matter at what point in the game it is. It's called scouting.. and CD has a huge chase factor. But of course, you know that.

What do you mean by “chase factor?”     Davis swings at far fewer pitches outside the strike zone than most of our players.   He was the lowest of all of our qualifiers last year.

When he's struggling, he'll chase pitches outside and low, and inside up. Over the last couple of years, while struggling.. he's looking a bit lost.

TBH.. I don't get to see but 1/2 the O's games, and when I do.. I see him chasing when he's not looking for a walk.
