Okajima, BOS - Japan

Kuroda, LAD - Japan

Nolasco, FLA - USA

Eveland, OAK - USA

Nothing shocking here. If you listed the top 20 overall players in terms of value in MLB right now, I'm sure 75% of them would be from another country.

That may be overstating things a bit, but it does highlight the folly of the prior Orioles braintrusts that seemed to put international scouting way, way back on the back burner.

This is extremely subjective, but I'd imagine one person's list COULD look something like this:

Johan Santana - Venezuela

David Oritz - DR

Alex Rodriguez - DR/US (not sure which applies)

Manny Ramirez - DR

Albert Pujols - DR

Miguel Cabrera - Ven.

Jose Reyes - DR

Hanley Ramirez - DR

Vladimir Guerrero - DR

Ichiro - Japan

Now obviously I've left out a lot of American players like Josh Hamilton and there are more Americans in the top tier of pitchers than position players (Sabathia, Webb, Peavy, etc), but you see my point. A ton of the top tier talent in MLB are not from this country.
