We're deep in it now. Strap in for some forced positivity!!

  • John Means: Didn't have his best stuff, but still gutted out 5 innings and all in all, it wasn't too bad of a start. If this is what a bad day looks like for John Means, that's going to be just fine.

  • Pedro Severino: Ol' sore nuts had a good offensive game, hitting a home run, and adding a single and a walk while desperately trying to block all of Scott's pitches. A valiant effort.

  • ?Chris Davis: 2-4 with 2 RBI. We've reached .600 OPS land!! The second RBI single, in particular, was really nice. Opposite field on a 96 mph fastball to beat the shift on a 3-2 count, precisely when he should be looking to do that.

  • Hanser Alberto: Hanser's the answer, babe. 3-4 and just a single-hitting machine out there. That average is up to .324. And, even more fun, he's OPSing 1.034 against lefties. Hung in there playing RF.

  • Miguel Castro: He continues his good run. Since the 4-run debacle on 4/22, he's pitched 3 innings of scoreless baseball over 3 outings. Very good news.

  • Yefry Ramirez: I thought he looked pretty good out there. Palmer was lauding some of his pitches, and he struck out 2 over 1.1. Did allow a run, but, you know, whatever.

  • Infield defense: Continues to be a bright spot on this team.
