Must be the douche factory of Pennsylvania. :D

Mussina is far from the first ball player to be one.

But, as far as douche bags go, even you have to admit, he didnt do things like spit in the umpire face, head butt his head into end zone wall after scoring a touchdown. His posse didnt shot somebody in Las Vegas coming out of a strip joint, nor did I ever see a report on TMZ where he was drunk and running naked through the hotel lobby.

Nope, those sound like jerk things. Being a douche typically involves a person who acts like they are smarter and better than everyone else.

I have no idea what Mike Mussina is like now. He might be the perfect gentlemen. I have no issues with the man besides being the only drafted and developed Orioles All-Star to ever sign with the Yankees in his prime. A man who gave up an opportunity to leave a legacy for a few extra bucks and because he didn't like the pressure of being a number one pitcher.

A man who could have gone down as one of the greatest pitchers in an organization, only to become a another cog in the wheel of the Yankees.

I know he has his fans here and that's fine, fans can have any opinion they want of players. Some fans don't get that there are players out there that could give two squats about them and it's always been about them. I understand that and accept that about fans.

At the end of the day, Mussina will always be a traitor and a non-Oriole to me. I'm happy he's not in the HoVG (Very Good) wearing an O's cap.

And before anyone start rehashing the old "It's Angelos' fault" excuse, I don't care. I know the story inside and out and it doesn't change my mind that the guy turned his back on a chance to have a legacy, a chance that very few players ever get a chance for, and he choose money, even when he was being offered enough money for four generations of Mussina's to be comfortable.

And now back to Chris Ray. Always liked the guy and hope his beer making is going well if he's still doing that!

Chris was a bright spot on a very bad Oriole team.

Sadly, with pitchers, sometimes, there is such a fine line between getting hitters out, and get knocked around by the hitters, it doesn't take much for them to lose that edge.

Kline wasn't charged with assault while playing.  Give me Francisco Rodriguez.

So Oriole-y.  Not only was K-Rod apparently a fairly terrible human, but his time in Baltimore involved exactly zero of his 437 career saves. 4th in saves in all off history, and 22 innings of a 4.50 for the O's, and they actually gave up a halfway decent prospect for him.  I guess we're lucky Nick Delmonico looks like he's not going to have a major league career of any consequence.
