It is often said that you should "know who's running" when you have a slow base-runner, and to subsequently not rush the play ...... the same is true when you have a very fast base-runner. On the ground-ball error that last inning inning, Cedric Mullins was not likely to be doubled up anyway because of the fact that the ball was not hit hard/fast enough for a fast runner like himself. The Athletics shortstop was thinking about turning 2, and as the Orioles' announcer stated, that is probably why he missed the ball. It was clearly a bad pitch/toss by the second-baseman, but it was also a scoopable/makeable catch if the shortstop was concentrating solely on getting the force-out, which he appeared not to be doing.

You have to like the Orioles' fight in this game. This game looked like it had dreary Sunday blowout written all over it. It may not last, but to have a lead in the seventh is impressive.
