What a horrible pitch call by Rutschman. 7 straight cutters? Gee, wonder if the hitter will be expecting one if the pitcher misses, it's going to get crushed.

CHANGE FREAKIN' speeds and locations.

Burnes can shake him off.

Astros have our number. They aren’t good but they’re playing good this series.

We've taken 2 out of 3 from them here the last 2 years. Not this year

I don't really think there is any cause and effect from the Yankees series. The Orioles scored 11 runs yesterday. They should have won.

Today Blanco is pitching well and Burnes is not. Houston is a good team that was due to get hot. They certainly seem like they've gotten hot the last game and half against us so far.

It's baseball. Teams get hot and cold, and the Orioles have been remarkably consistently good, so it seems weird to see them lose (assuming they lose this game) two in a row.

The Orioles have now allowed 18 runs in what, 14 innings? Not going to win many with that pitching.

Wow look at all the negative Nancys here.

Turn those frowns upside down, fellas!

Its gonna be just fine!

I agree....June has been a great month for us, but to listen to this group you'd think we sucked.

I agree, and he should have. But most pitchers are going to go with what the catcher calls.

Clearly they felt that's the pitch to get him out on but seven straight anything requires the pitcher to have great command. Burnes does not today.

    • The outfield might be slick from all the rain. I think that can influence lineup decisions.

    • I’ve been rending my garments over Adley and his struggles for months now. But I will say that it seems like a bit of an odd time to come together as a group on the notion of benching him — just as he’s been starting to show some signs of being Adley again.  Over the last week of the season, Adley had a 50% hard hit rate and an average EV of 89.9 MPH. Those numbers absolutely dwarf what he was doing for months, when he was sitting at more like a 26% HH rate and an 85 MPH EV. Anecdotally, I can’t even remember the last time we saw Adley drive a ball into the left-center gap like he did multiple times against MIN. That’s Adley at his very best, and it was a sight for sore eyes.  I’m not sold that he’s 100% back, and I would still stick with McCann catching Burnes tomorrow (especially since using Adley as the DH is viable with a LHP starter in Ragans). But I sincerely doubt we can run the table without at least a few stretches of Adley being Adley — so I think this recent spurt is probably enough to warrant sending him out there every day still, in hopes that he really is getting it locked back in.
    • Apparently, if you just waited to buy tickets, you could just basically go for free. Well done orioles.
    • Well, they likely would not have drafted an overslot SS with the second round pick if they had taken another HS SS first overall, so would you rather have Henderson and Rutschman or just Witt?
    • It’s my understanding that nationally televised games are usually blacked out. Consider a free trial subscription of Fubo if they are still offering it.
    • The Orioles starters absolutely have to do better against the Royals. You can't ask this bullpen to pitch most of the game and expect to win. Right now I probably trust Coulombe the most and Soto (which I never would have guessed a couple weeks back). Perez has been really shaky recently to the point I'm wondering is he nursing a tired arm or minor injuey. Cano hasn't been good as well and O's really need him to get back into a groove. And Akin is usually trustworthy, but only starting the inning clean.
