Organizational Turmoil?

Kinda to be expected.   If we don’t win this year, next year might have to be a transition year with the young guys.  I would trade Mounty and let Santander walk.  Let the young guys play.

The only interesting part, to me, is the bit about long term extensions.

The other parts were going to pretty obviously going to be a problem.

Guys should have been shipped off during the offseason, but Elias is too risk adverse to promote that many young players at once.

The extensions line seemed like a throw away.  I haven’t seen any young players talking about wanting them.   Maybe Mounty is interested or Ced.

They aren't going to talk about it.

I can't imagine Adley, for instance, going to the media to lobby for an extension.  It's very unprofessional.

Sure they would. They can say they would love to talk extension or how they want to finish their career here. You never hear any of the young guys say anything like that.

I just got through the payroll to read the story. There are no quotes or sources. The following paragraph states "the locker room has not fractured or turned sour--not at all..." Just a bunch of vague speculation.

So the question is what did Hays say when he "confirmed" the story? Just that the veterans are pressing?

Oh, so you mean we don't get pointless platitudes?

Cool, I'd rather not hear canned response #3.

I thought you meant actual dialog on the topic.

I am not talking about when asked directly.  Guys have ways that they can signal that they want an extension. It also isn’t unprofessional to come out and say after Witt signs, for example, that you would love to extend too.

Sounds like Hays confirmed that he was the problem, lol

Things are a real mess despite being in first place.

Maybe not related but did anyone hear Keith Law with Haynie yesterday, right after the news broke that Hays had been traded? Law made a comment that I thought centered around the negative thoughts from Hays teammates towards him. (I was surprised and I know, it’s Law). Did anyone else hear that and maybe correct my version in case I heard it wrong?

I think it is.

On both sides, in regards to the team and to your agent that you pay to handle that sort of thing.
