I remember an at bat with Kevin Gausman and Wieters, I think, against Texas.

Gausman threw-If I remember correctly- 7 consecutive pitches to exactly the same spot, and on the seventh, the guy hit it for a single after fouling off several.

So stupid. But what amazes me about Gausman was how consistent he was in that sequence.

Every time AR calls for a third consecutive same pitch, I get annoyed.

If you always change it up after throwing the same pitch twice in a row, hitters will eliminate that pitch.

That’s a sequence issue. Using a different sequence for a different batter maintains the uncertainty. It isn’t solved by throwing the same pitch a third time, especially because the batter has just seen it twice and will more easily recognize it out of the hand(or even before, depending on delivery) and adjust accordingly.
