I hope his placement here is based upon just how good he really is and not his ceiling... Sure we need guys that have upsides so high it makes you giddy to think about however I don't know (without seeing him in person) that Hobgood is anywhere near a top prospect just yet. The kid is after all just 19 years old and hasn't had a full season in the minors. Yeah sure there is lots to like, but realistically he is three years away... Why place such a high expectation (burden?) upon him so soon?

It seems clear the choice is between Hobgood and Snyder here. I wouldn't be shocked to see Hobgood ahead of Snyder using Tony's criteria but Snyder's numbers, level and age have to be respected. I'm going with Hobgood here.

Hobgood may not be in your top 10 but it's almost certain he's in Tony's top 10. If Coffey is in the top 10 then Hobgood has to be in the top 10, unless Tony really disliked the Hobgood pick, and there's no indication that that's the case.

You may be correct. Personally, I can easily find 10 players who I feel have more potential to make a future bigger impact on the ML team. I hope I am wrong and Hobgood turns out to be a great O's pitcher someday. Only time will tell.
