The Terps looked great today but I'm having a hard time getting that Clemson game out of my mind. 2nd in the Conference will do though.

The Clemson game is always a physical grabbing type game.. The Terps struggled with that and adjusted nicely against FSU. Today was a big game for Maryland. Plain and simple Maryland's senior guards carried the day. Maryland is better than the Tar Heels. 6 and 2 at the turn is not hard to take. Big week, with Va. and Duke coming up.

Does Maryland break into the top 25??

Gary > Roy. End of discussion. Roy made himself look like a complete fool not calling timeout during the run that essentially handed Maryland the game. You can't afford to wait until the TV timeout in a hostile environment with the home team heating up like that. Dude may be able to recruit but Gary shows year in and year out why he is by far the better gameday tactician. I hope someone hid Roy's shoelaces and belt, he looked pretty depressed in the last couple minutes.

Maryland is really good, I mean really, really good.

Fire Gary!

I'm a Terp alum...but my brain won't let me admit that with GV on the team. I am literally incapable of rooting for him. But, I am developing quite a fandom for Jordan Williams. The guy is a beast.

He also took Ginyard out at 12:40, when Marc was the only player who seemed to give a crap. We weren't winning that game no matter what, but you're 100% right that he missed the moment to stop the momentum. Coach Smith has always taught to save your time outs if you can, but that was taking it a bit too far. Vazquez is such a momentum player, and feeds off himself, had to stop the game for a minute there...

And without recruiting, he can show it all the way to the NIT. Recruiting is a huge part of NCAA bball. Luckily, Gary seems to be turning his recruiting in the right direction. If he gets that rolling, his coaching will really turn the program back into something special.

Roy has 2 NC's in the last 5 seasons, and the top class coming in. I'm sure he'll be just fine.

If Vazquez was on any other team, you all would treat him like a cross between Hines Ward and Dustin Pedroia..He's a terrific talent though, just a joy to watch as a fan.

If there are 25 teams better than Maryland right now I'd like to see them. As bad as they have played in a few games this year how do you keep out the 2nd place ACC team that leads the Conference in scoring?

There might not be 10 better in my opinion...

I cannot stand him. He's my least favorite bball player of all time to watch...even below the floor slappers.

Good call, Wojo is mine...Dude won defensive player of the year once by scratching people. Ed Cota used to have bloody forearms at the end of games playing that guy. I digress..

    • He threw that fastball right down the shoot on a 1-2 count. That was not a case of Trout being Trout. It was a case of horrible location. I have to believe that it was not his intention to throw it there after he watched us beat Trout several times the night before with hard stuff up in the zone (Trout's only weakness). Maybe the extra day messed up something with Rodriguez's ability to execute? Maybe he just had a bad night? But this was not the case of the Angels being good. It was Grayson who was really bad.
    • But, but they lost. They absorbed a loss.
    • That’s probably true and Elias said he also didn’t want to call him up if he wasn’t ready to be an everyday player.   So ………. something to keep an eye on.
    • Yea he has looked bad but while it’s fair to point that out, it’s also fair to point that some of this could be attributed to rust, an injury, not having a real ST, not playing in the field as much (I assume since he’s not catching?), etc…I think his timing is likely off and he’s working himself back into things. He has played 15 games. He has a multi hit game in 1/3 of his game so far. You point out all the Ks…what’s funny is all the Ks came in 5 games and he hasn’t struck out the last 4. To me the only thing that bothers me as of right now is the zero walks but it’s not something that would concern me long term.
    • This indicates that his timing is off. And as many have already mentioned, he is pulling off the ball. This probably due to his lower confidence (because he has been scuffling) and not trusting himself enough to stay back and go with the pitch. This will get corrected in due time.
    • That's fine we each are entitled to our opinions.  I think we both want the same thing, which is for Holliday to get it going. As to how he get's there, we will have to see how it plays out.
    • Maybe not so good that his front hip is almost in the first base dugout and he has to get fully extended just to reach a ball on the outside corner.
