My takeaways… Bullpen - He said that another bullpen signing would have to be a significant upgrade over what we have because it would hurt our flexibility. SP - Of course we would prefer a #1 over a #2, and a #2 over a #3. And so forth. But we’re looking in that #3 range for a SP acquisition. Hyde said we haven’t made a call on Hall or Wells coming to camp as a SP or RP. That decision will be made based on our personnel. Elias seems like a straight shooter. He looks from input from Hyde a lot more than we think. Overall, Elias just seems to be very happy to be talking about winning versus rebuilding. -
Glasnow has a $25M salary and has never pitched over 120 innings. That doesn’t sound like the aisle Elias is shopping down. I agree with most of your comments. A great talent and TB is smart. -
Isn’t it possible that the Orioles like Povich a lot, expect him to be a contributor in 2024, but would still be open to trading him if that’s what it took? If the WS asked for Joey Ortiz and Povich for Cease I suspect Elias would pull the trigger. Are you suggesting that the Orioles are so high on Povich that he’s essentially on the “no trade” list?

I think players like Bryan Baker and Mike Bauman do more damage than good can be added by a pitcher like Dylan Cease. So addition by subtraction of your worst IMO. -

I'm only halfway through this thread, and you've generated excess cringe value. If cringe could be express as Cwar, you've generated 2.8 in a very short cup of coffee. It's always interesting how people who don't have money are experts on how people with money are / were / will be. -
It's clear what was said that I responded to. No offense, but you don't know that family nor do you know that it was shared by a member of the Orioles front office.
