Drew Dosch had three hits for the Frederick Keys while playing a stellar third base. One was a triple another a home run - he knocked in six runs and earned the Orioles Hangout MiLB player of the day award.

Christian Walker homered.

Chris Jones pitched six and twot thirds innings allowing three earned runs.

Baysox [AA] Lost 5 to 2

Garabez Rosa and Glynn Davis each collected two hits.

Andrew Triggs pitched one inning striking out all three.

Keys [A+] Won 10 to 8

Josh Hart had three hits, a walk, and a stolen base.

Trey Mancini was three for five with two walks and a double.

John Ruettiger had two hits and walked twice.

Shorebirds [A] Lost 4 to 2

Jay Gonzalez was three for four.

Brian Gonzalez allowed four runs in five innings pitched.

Palmer Homers In Ninth, ‘Birds Fall Short 4-2

West Virginia wins series with lights out pitching

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Delmarva Shorebirds struggled offensively all series against the West Virginia Power, falling again on Sunday afternoon by a final score of 4-2. Delmarva (22-21) did not score until a ninth-inning home run by Riley Palmer, but it was too late to avoid a series loss.

West Virginia built a 4-0 lead, beginning with single tallies in the third and fourth inning. The scoring started when Tito Polo belted an RBI double to score Elvis Escobar, though Polo was thrown out trying to stretch into a triple. In the fourth, Trace Tam Sing looped an RBI single to left field to bring home Michael Suchy.

Shorebirds’ starter Brian Gonzalez ran out of gas in the sixth. Jordan Luplow hit a solo home run, and then Gonzalez walked Suchy to finish his outing. Suchy eventually scored on an RBI single by Kawika Emsley-Pai off reliever Stefan Crichton.

Though he allowed an inherited runner to score, Crichton pitched two scoreless innings. Matt Trowbridge tossed a perfect eighth inning for Delmarva. Delmarva cut the lead in half in the ninth with a two-run home run by Riley Palmer, his second long ball of the season. Jose Regalado struck out the next two batters to end the game, 4-2.

Jay Gonzalez highlighted the offensive effort with a three-hit game for the Shorebirds. Delmarva finished the four-game series with nine runs on 18 hits, well below their season average

DOSCH’S 6 RBIS POWER KEYS PAST HILLCATS 10-8 IN 10 INNINGS

THREE-RUN HOME RUN BY DOSCH IN 10TH GIVES KEYS WINNING ROADTRIP

Lynchburg, Va. – Drew Dosch recorded six RBIs for the first time in his career and sent a three-run home run over the right field fence in the top of the 10th to defeat Lynchburg 10-8 in 10 innings on Sunday afternoon at City Stadium. The win guarantees the Keys a winning roadtrip for the first time this season.

The Keys, leading 5-1 after two and a half, and 7-4 after seven, netted their fifth extra inning win in five attempts thanks to Dosch. With two outs in the 10th, the Keys third baseman stepped in against Casey Weathers (0-1) with Josh Hart and Trey Mancini on second and third. After fouling off three consecutive 1-2 pitches, the lefty batter crushed one to right for his second bomb of the year.

Lynchburg forced extras thanks to two runs in the ninth frame against Cody Wheeler (3-0), who blew his first save attempt of the season. The lefty recorded the first two outs, but a Clint Frazier solo shot made it 7-6, and an RBI single by Eric Haase tied it up. The Hillcats were down to their last strike three different times in the inning but prevailed each instance. Wheeler buckled down and struck out Mike Papi with the bases loaded to send it to extra frames.

The Keys took a 1-0 lead after one inning against Michael Peoples thanks to Brenden Webb’s fifth RBI of the series, a double to score Jeff Kemp. They would add another in the second on Josh Hart’s RBI knock, which also extended his hitting streak to 10 games.

Lynchburg got on the board in the second against David Hess, who tossed five innings, allowed six hits, four runs, walked four, and struck out three in a no-decision. Papi doubled home Nellie Rodriguez to cut it to 2-1.

In the top of the third, Frederick scored three more against Peoples, who lasted 4.1 innings, gave up 10 hits, and six runs. Dosch brought home his first of the day on a fielder’s choice, and Adrian Marin and Johnny Ruettiger followed with a triple and single to give the Keys a 5-1 lead.

The Keys plated Mancini in the top of the fifth on a Dosch single to push the lead to 6-1. Lynchburg would slice it in half with a pair in the bottom half of the fifth against Hess. With runners on second and third and nobody out, a Hess wild pitch scored Frazier and Rodriguez lifted a sac fly to score Bradley Zimmer to make it 6-3.

In the seventh, the Keys got a triple from Dosch to score Mancini again, who doubled to lead off the inning against Delvy Francisco. The Keys left two aboard in the inning and left 11 on base in the game, however they went 9-for-23 with runners in scoring position.

Dennis Torres tossed a 1-2-3 sixth and seventh innings, but ran into trouble in the eighth. After striking out Rodriguez, he allowed back-to-back doubles to Haase and Paul Hendrix to make it 7-5. Wheeler came in and got the last two outs of the eighth before the ninth inning troubles.

In the bottom of the 10th, Jimmy Yacabonis allowed one run, but left the tying run at the plate when Zimmed flied out to left field to end the game in three hours and 50 minutes. The Keys pounded out 16 hits for the second time in the series, tying a season-high, and have 42 hits in the three-game set.

Richmond, VA - An early two-run lead did not stand as Richmond rallied for four runs in the third inning to best the Baysox 5-2 on Sunday afternoon.

The Baysox were left wanting more out of the first two innings. The got three consecutive singles to open the game - the last of which from RF Quincy Latimore driving home the game's first run. But Bowie could not extend the rally further.

In the second inning, DH Chris O'Brien worked a six-pitch walk and 2B Garabez Rosa followed with a fly ball double near the wall in left-center field. With runners at second and third bases, 3B Sharlon Schoop grounded out weakly, driving home O'Brien and moving Rosa to third. He would stay there though as a popout and strikeout ended the inning.

Bowie starter Parker Bridwell was efficient through two scoreless innings throwing just 14 pitches. In the third the Flying Squirrels got the big inning. Richmond 2B Blake Miller doubled and LF Daniel Carbonell hit a jam-shot single to center. Later in the inning with one down, SS Kelby Tomlinson doubled on a ground ball down the left field line scoring Miller.

Richmond tied the game on a groundout from RF Devin Harris and DH Mac Williamson put them ahead with an RBI-single to right field. He would then steal second and get third base on a throwing error. Williamson scored on a wild pitch to finish the Flying Squirrels rally.

The Baysox threatened late in the game but could not break through leaving seven men on base in the game's final four innings.

Christian Walker homered and Chris Jones worked 6.2 strong innings, but Rochester's Tommy Milone turned in a strong outing in a 3-1 win over Norfolk Sunday afternoon at Harbor Park.

Milone (4-0) continued his torrid stretch with the Red Wings, as he's posted a 0.28 ERA over four starts since being optioned to Rochester on May 8. Over that span, the 28-year-old southpaw worked 37.1 consecutive scoreless innings, the longest stretch in the IL since Major League Baseball Advance Media assumed responsibility for Minor League statistics in 2005. The International League record for consecutive scoreless innings is 54, set by Toronto's Urban Shocker in 1916.

Milone took a shutout into the ninth inning before Walker belted a solo shot into the visiting bullpen in left-center field. Milone walked eight without striking out a batter, and he's now registered 41 strikeouts while walking two with the Wings this season.

The Red Wings gave Milone all the runs he would need in the third frame, as Jose Martinez opened the inning with a solo homer off of Jones. Martinez later added a sacrifice fly to extend the lead to 2-0, and Danny Ortiz led off the seventh inning with a solo home run to put the Red Wings up by three.

Jones (1-2) allowed seven hits and one walk in the outing, his fourth start with the Tides since he joined the rotation on May 8. He struck out two while throwing 104 pitches in the contest - the most by a Tides pitcher this season.

Nolan Reimold singled twice, his fourth multi-hit game over his last six contests. Reimold has batted .500 (11-22) over that six-game stretch to up his season average to .278
