  1. He's definitely slumping. It's time to see if he can make adjustments.
  2. Without "THE" guy in the bullpen, I like the idea of matchups. That being said, I'd still like to see them add another reliable arm. I'll actually be surprised of they don't.
  3. Not me. What a pain in the rear that guy was. I know that SG posts strong opinions, but there IS an ignore feature on here if you don't want to see his posts. Good riddance.
  4. I'm assuming this means they "get" the 2nd most favorable ball/strike calls? That's not surprising. Heck, every time Soto takes a called strike he turns around and questions/stares at the umpire.
  5. I could see maybe one of them being dealt for the right guy, but not both. Kjerstad could get you that bullpen guy, but I think Elias would want another "sweetener" for a deal for him. Maybe one of these relievers and lower-level prospect?
  6. You cannot have enough reliable late inning guys.
  7. Elias would NEVER do that deal.
  8. Funny you should mention this. I was thinking about how much I like Aaron Judge. Seems like a good dude...you don't see him showing up umps or staring at opposing pitchers. Despite the fact that I loathe the Yankees, they do seem like they bring in high-character guys. Not sure about Soto...he seem like a bit of a prima donna.
  9. That Holmes dude is throwing a spit ball. He doesn't wipe his hand the second time he goes to his mouth. His pitches move VERY weird.
  10. Not our game tonight...
  11. Something told me that Cabrera dude was gonna hurt us tonight.
  12. No doubt. And he's throwing strikes.
  13. 100% correct. I agree that Soto does a little too much showboating, but that's MLB today. The only thing drilling Soto would do is infuriate the Yankees. Beat them on the field and none of that matters.
  14. I don't know why Kjerstad is even here. I think the dude needs to be dealt for a BP arm.
  15. Totally agree with your take on this. We really needed to add a very solid setup man to complement Kimbrel. Cano overachieved last season and should not have been expected to replicate that. You've got guys like Norby and Stowers playing their 3rd season in AAA who could have been used to acquire some decent BP arms. I don't see any help coming up from the minors for the bullpen, and quite frankly, I think this is Elias' Achilles heel. He's great at scouting/developing position players, but the pitching in the minors seems lackluster.
  16. If Kimbrell is hurt, this team is in deep doo-doo.
  17. Quite honestly, when you allow 7 runs to the pathetic lineup the A's put on the field, you really have to wonder.
  18. On an 0-2 pitch, nonetheless...
  19. I think that is a perfectly fine platoon at 2B. It's nice that those 2 guys provide a lot of versatility.
  20. Can't argue, but I think they were thinking right-handed and better defense.
  21. It was the 20's...why was he running at all?
  22. Not watching the game...just the play by play on ESPN...it simply amazes me how inept this team is against soft-tossing LHP.
  23. Especially on an away day game after a night game.
  24. Can't believe they are going to get beat by this clown. Oh well...I'll look at the woeful details in the morning.
