  1. I don't think this is correct. The agreement only banned new players from using smokeless tabacco. Now it is true that at least half the stadiums ban it.
  2. The substance was banned but Davis had a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) for it. He lost the TUE and continued use. When he received a new TUE it was for a different, but related, drug.
  3. I don't find that to be true. Society has changed in the last forty years.
  4. I just want it to be merit based. If they should be at a certain level they should be at that level. AR could have started his professional career at A+ and no one would have thought he was being rushed.
  5. "Master that level". What does that mean? It's nonsense. It's nothing but an excuse to manipulate service time.
  6. I'd rather not have Grayson in A+ ball. I don't want to see everyone in the farm lose a year of their career. I would hope that they learned enough in their controlled environment that they can skip a level. Seriously, what is it you have heard about Grayson that makes you think he needs to be in A+ ball next year?
  7. I don't have any personal animosity toward RZNJ. It's a message board.
  8. I guess it depends on the mindset. If the big contract was the important thing to you I can see why you wouldn't want to risk losing money by testing positive.
  9. Anderson not Davis. Yea, Cano was using stuff designed in the early 60's. Not something you want to cheap out on.
  10. And with labor uncertainty it makes sense for a team concerned with it's finances to keep him around for 2022 in case of a work stoppage.
  11. I think folks are being overly rough on Chris. He was making real progress last spring and it's obvious the abbreviated spring training really hurt him. I think we should expect this change in approach to have a positive impact.
  12. How much is Mancini going to make?
  13. Can you provide an example of the union successfully intervening in one of these situations?
  14. I'm hoping he does well. But I personally wouldn't bring up Jones or McGregor as comps when they pitched over thirty years ago.
  15. Interesting, yes to Wells, no to Pop. Hopefully it goes well.
  16. I think they would be higher, but not high enough. Yes I don't think Jones or McGregor would have been successful starting pitchers in this era. Maybe bullpen guys, not starters.
