I didn't say Mayo wasn't a legit prospect. That was in response to the idea that lower draft picks can't more holes in their game (which I agree they do tend to have). If you pay a fifth round guy second round money do you look at him like a fifth round guy or a second round guy or something in between?

Second round isn't high? Mayo was a bonus baby, they paid for a high pick. I think that if a team is actually concerned about defense you wouldn't see a drop like we have with Adley. My guess is they instructed him to work on other things, perhaps to include his physique.

Not even kidding. How good has Adley looked on defense this season? How much of a dropoff have we seen from Gunnar. Also, Stowers, Norby, Mayo, Kjerstad.

I think Roy thinks that everyone this side of Judge is slumping. Every runner in scoring position should score, runs should be scored every inning, opposing starters out of the game by the fourth inning.

You can do it. Teams do it every year. I'm guessing if we check every FA RP signing this last offseason at least one is way over-performing. But you can't bet on being that team that gets the 2025 golden ticket.

Agreed. Brain trauma is never funny. It's the main reason I'm opposed to ever intentionally throwing at a guy. Hopefully Kjerstad isn't one of those poor souls like Roberts who is especially vulnerable to concussions.
