  1. I mean, at least do a 5-year deal. Just show some form of commitment to someone.
  2. You see the Rays locking up Wander, Pirates locking up Hayes, and Cleveland signing Ramirez. Yet, we continue to sit on our hands with Adley. It’s really sickening. I honestly have lost any remaining interest I had at this point in this franchise. Which is a shame. Like others here have stated, if they don’t care then why should I?
  3. I like that Connolly calls out the lack of pitching in the organization. Now we can watch as the other media members slobber all over Elias today as he continues to BS us all.
  4. Just remember…. Chris Davis is retired!!!!!
  5. LOL Joe Angel: “Is this heaven? No. This is Baltimore.”??
  6. Let’s see, what over-the-hill pitchers are out there that can be brought in on minor league deals???
  7. 14-15 years you mean? I guess we can look forward to the Rays moving up this way in a few years?
  8. I have learned that Elias is sitting back collecting a paycheck. AR needs to be in Norfolk and they are clearly letting him wallow in Bowie to be cheap and manipulate his service time. Wait until Mancini goes to arbitration again and gets traded for a couple 16-year olds. And Mullins and Means will be asked to take “pay cuts” or be traded for a few baseball cards and a sack of marbles. I have said it before. Elias is here to cut payroll and eventually springboard to a better job.
  9. Anybody catch Mike Deveraux’s interview? Wow, talk about depressing. These older players are completely aghast when they come back and see the joke this franchise has become. It’s sad.
  10. The lack of pitchers drafted the last two years concerns me. Elias saying this kid was BPA, supposedly, but it feels like a mulligan for Kerjstad…
  11. So, then, taking Kerjstad underslot last year really wasn’t being “cheap?”
  12. I am curious. How does the draft allotment work? Say we have like $15 mil in the pool. If we take an underslot, etc, do we pocket the left over money afterwards? Or is it a number that signifies a max of what can be spent?
  13. I will die on the hill that signing JJ Hardy the day before the 2014 ALCS was the turning point. No one will agree with me, but I think it signaled to Cruz and Markakis that they weren’t going to get the offers they wanted from us to stay. Could it have caused dissection in the club house that led to a listless series? I think so, but again, no one will agree.
  14. Respectable as in being the second-worst team maybe. You know we won’t see Adley until the absolute last second before his clock starts. And then we assume Grayson and Hall will come up and thrive, but who else? Means can’t stay healthy. Are we really going to keep Matt Harvey around? I guess Lopez could be someone to keep? I honestly see this being a White Sox-type of rebuild, where it will take a decade or so to approach competitiveness. We won’t spend money to sign anyone of note and our core guys now will be on the wrong side of 30 by the time we start flirting with .500 again. Aren’t I quite the optimist
  15. That is what I fear, although new ownership will be nice. We’ll get a few years into the rebuild and Elias will take a better job elsewhere. Then again, the transition from McPhail to Duquette went pretty well…
  16. Health issues aside, the Kjerstad pick really threw me for a loop. Until then, I would’ve gone “A” all the way, but I am not so sure now. Going the cheap route on a #2 pick signals to me that ownership is all about cutting costs and Elias may be here for reasons none of us will like.
  17. Elias said Davis’ rehab is going well! If we’re lucky, he’ll be back in time to seal the deal for another below-slot top pick!!!
  18. People I talk to in life and those posting on this board seem to think 2022 is the year this team starts “contending.” Won’t happen. We are banking on three guys to come up and magically spark this team into contention. What if one or all of them bust? Then what? I’m sure people will be calling for Elias’ head if things aren’t trending up in a year or two. Everyone needs to temper expectations, especially when hinging the future on just a couple of guys.
  19. I guess Wynns is not the savior after all?
  20. I just hope he’s still in Bowie July 30. That’s when the Baysox come to town to take on my Flying Squirrels!
