  1. Rocker sure looks the part. Wow I forgot how imposing he is. Right now his breaking stuff doesn’t look very sharp though.
  2. Agreed. The worse your record, the larger your draft pool $, right? If That’s true, that’s the only defense against your argument, but it’s not a very good one I don’t think. Not a fan of quantity over quality, especially when it seems like we have some nice depth in our system now (knock on wood.)
  3. Yes. Longevity and better defense at an extremely important position. It’s certainly a very interesting debate, but for my money Yadier Molina is the best catcher of this generation.
  4. I really like Ford and think he’ll go in the top 10 whether we take him or not.
  5. Rocker not looking too sharp right now. At all. More balls than strikes through 2 2/3 IP. Sitting 92-94. I don’t think he should be the pick, and tend to think he won’t be.
  6. Eh, I think there’s still time for him to live up to those hopes. He has always passed the eye test for me as well. Maybe someone saw something mechanically and he’s made a slight tweak and gained some velocity and more importantly for him, command? I’ve watched him a few times this year and felt he pretty much had no idea where the ball was going. If he’s figured something out, I think that changes his profile quite a bit. Stranger things have certainly happened. See: Cedric Mullins.
  7. If he was as good as Posada for 4 seasons I would, yes.
  8. Well surely you’re expecting at least somethint. But yes, it’s become an obsession and my vision is deteriorating. Maw-maw was right.
  9. Honest question: what would be a Rutschman outcome you’re happy with? I’ll go out on a relatively sturdy limb and say he won’t reach the offensive heights of Posey nor the overall, complete and utter greatness of Molina. Basically, what exactly are we expecting from him at this point?
  10. We should demand at least two top 100 guys for Harvey.
  11. My fear is that the college outfielders (or McClain) have way less leverage so are more likely to agree to an underslot deal…
  12. No shame in a backwards K anymore. I think I dislike this philosophy.
  13. Agree about Severino, it’s an embarrassment. Unless he’s really good with the pitching staff, I see no reason he should play more than once a week. I’ve got a soft spot for DJ though, and don’t mind him playing 2-3 times a week. Would you rather watch McKenna? Diaz when he’s ready, sure, but there aren’t many better options in the minors right now who are ready. And you raise an interesting point about Elias making Hyde look bad. Perhaps he’s determined Hyde isn’t the guy to manage this team when (if) they are competitive.
  14. Agree things seem to be shaking out decently for us. I just watched some video on Harry Ford and he actually looks like a monster. If he ends up being the pick, I won’t be upset, in fact I think I’d be excited. The swing and bat speed are legit, and he has an extremely athletic build.
  15. Agree I don’t think there’s any reality in which they get.
  16. Agree. To protect myself, I’m very much tempering expectations. If he’s JT Realmuto for 5 or 6 years that’s a huge win for us.
  17. I’d think yea, probably second base or CF. And a package of Means and Gunnar may well get it done you’re right, but I think that’s a poor trade for us. I just think in general we’d have to overpay for Abrams. Teams definitely seem to value their top prospects much more than they did in the days of the Aroldis Chapman, Jose Quintana, and Chris Sale trades.
