  1. Fire him and donate his pension to Trey's charity. That was a pure ego move by the ump. If you closely at his pants while he is arguing with Hyde you can see something really itty bitty suddenly get hard. Hint: rhymes with ejection.
  2. Yeah, he has to prove himself at every level all over again.
  3. They are going to have to keep him down until he gets runners on base to practice going out of the stretch. Plus he and Adley need at least 5 starts together in Norfolk before they are ready.
  4. Lot of interesting data here. The Yankees series obviously was a boon and our avg attendance will go down significantly over time...but it is super neat to be neck-and-neck with the Rangers in their huge market and new billion dollar stadium. Also awesome us to be out-drawing the White Sox and Twins, who are both in "win now" mode.
  5. Don't look now, but Watkins is pitching really well.
  6. You look at that A's lineup without the Matt's and think, "Gosh they are terrible". However, they've scored well over twice as many runs as us so far (53 vs 21). Let's correct that SSS anomoly this series.
  7. Yes I have, and I totally agree with you. I keep mentioning it because of the Debby Downers that don't seem to appreciate how well he calls a game.
  8. Calm down. Yes, Lakins was terrible. Just keep up hope, brighter days are on the horizon.
  9. I don't think we need to jump to "the sky is falling" TJ conclusions just yet. Means is smart to get a 2nd opinion. There is a really positive sign that he only felt tightness on the curveball and not other pitches.
  10. I'll repeat what I said the other day: Chorinos is a big factor in the success of our bullpen. Can't wait for CoC to play devil's advocate.
  11. I love Urias bypassing the interpreter to do the interview in English. As someone that is learning Spanish and is around the same level as he is in English...it takes balls to put yourself out there. Good for him. Maybe someday I can have a walkoff win and do the post-game interview in Spanish.
  12. Baker is clutch. Fought back against absolutely terrible umpiring.
  13. His BABIP is .133 with a 40% hard hit rate. His poor average and OPS so far is pure bad luck. Those averages will balance out soon. Dude is still a beast.
  14. It looks like he is getting into better shape. Looks trimmer than he did at the start of camp. Hopefully he keeps pitching like this, we need all the arms we can get.
  15. I hope you stick around, but don't blame you if you don't. I was a long time lurker/reader that rarely posted, but have lately been making an effort to post more. I share the same frustration as you, a lot of discussions devolve into the same negativity and talking points no matter how they started out. It also seems like a "good ol' boys club" where the same handful or two super posters dominate the conversation, mostly only replying to each other's posts with nitpicking. But, I'm sure most message boards operate this way. Overall, I'd love for this page to be more welcoming to new folks with different ideas/perspectives.
  16. He very well could be a major reason why our bullpen is outperforming expectations so far.
  17. I will say, Kevin and whoever he is paired with are so much better than the Yankees broadcasters. Watching the Yankees/Blue Jays game right now and the YES guys are cringingly terrible.
  18. We got lucky escaping that inning. We should not have left Tate in the game.
  19. Fry looks even more lost than he did last year. Mountcastle is locked in and will put up insane numbers this year. We're going through some big-time growing pains. Keep your stick on the ice, we're all in this together.
  20. DJ really needs to take up rugby.
  21. But those super quick hands though....
