  1. Would you extend Bregman this offseason? I’ve said this before, I believe Westburg will have seasons close to this playing level.
  2. Said in the offseason that Westburg is one of the good extendable options at a good price!
  3. Brown mentioned Westburg had not had a walkoff hit in his mlb career right before this good one. Opposite field HR!
  4. That is pretty obvious, just saying he would be attractive if he did
  5. If McKenna had options, I think a team would be more interested
  6. Westburg will put up 3-5 wars seasons
  7. Okay, what is Adam’s secret sauce for Apple’s 3 games this year….may create an X account just to ask him directly while he’s 12 hours away!
  8. Based on Hyder’s sidebar with Anthony after his HR, I believe Cowser is coming in. Colton Need a bb or hit/error without a double play for his first 2024 AB
  9. Of course it’s Mountcastle at 27 years old, who gets the first out
  10. They are visiting in April!
  11. The Brewers are plus on pitching development. My guess is deception and ability to be a SP for Hall. Will continue to follow this, but there is a good thread for Ex Orioles. Ortiz is on the OD roster too! Kinda rooting for Milwaukee this year+
  12. Historically, maybe decades, the opening day lineup was the All-Star voting ballot for all of MLB. was surprised Westburg DH’d, but believe Hyder and analytics are going full on veteran to start the season and will adjust, as needed.
  13. O’h yeah! It is definitely impacting the pitching and the batters eye. If Elias can move the wall back, let’s get rid of that atrocity!
  14. Good day! I have big hopes the new ownership group will improve the Oriole fan experiences that deserve real attention: affordable MASN accessibility without cable contracts Remove the TV’s that do not work at Camden Yards, replace them too! Increasing or competitive payroll extend/acquire elite talent Annual OH free night at the yard that should be good for 2024!
  15. I thought the same the other day and believe the O’s will designate him for assignment in the next 2+ weeks, when ML rosters are more set for the season. He may have a better chance to pass later than now. And those southpaw’s
  16. I can guess it has to do with higher upside prospects . I believe in balance of experience and see a season that will be maximized be an elite FO.
  17. Mateo can win a game on the base paths, as a utility option at SS and more likely CF too! He is faster than 25 other teams starting roster. He is above replacement level, overall as a FT starter, with gold glove level defense over an entire season and shown flashes with the bat. In other words, he is the best kind of impact utility player most teams would like to have. Urias is a valuable defensive replacement at 2B and 3B, or 1B/SS for a brief roster option. He can OPS over .700 in this role. Urias and Mateo also have multiple years of mlb experience. Something that regular and utility players need for a playoff caliber team. Mateo was 5-5 against the Ranger's in the playoffs.
  18. Is there a point in time where the draft pick compensation expires if Snell signs later into the season? Could not find anything with the new CB agreement in my searches…
  19. My instinct the last 6+ months has doubts about Jackson making the opening day roster this season. Yet I keep hearing and reading the opposite. cannot recall an Orioles team that has ever had this much positional depth. One spot for Norby, Stowers, Kerjstad, Cowser? All ready for MLB chances…This is going to be the most interesting spring training!
  20. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/r/ramirha01.shtml Hanley Ramirez, not drafted, I believe was a top ranked prospect the year Boston traded him to the Marlins. A deal that worked for both teams
  21. I continue to remember this quote from JH’s signing presser on his goal to become a MLB player….short version 2 years “or less”. Skip to the 12 minute mark. A weird presser because of the COVID transition, compared to today’s and prior years interviews.. Things change, obviously, and I am getting acquainted to the Wong thread too. Looking at this current situation, I do not see JH on the opening day roster, unless there is another significant trade. I will not be surprised if there is a significant swap trade at this point, with so many options. The Orioles want veteran and prospect balance. To be difficult, what would Jackson Holliday retrieve in a trade? https://youtu.be/hJ0KILIko6g?si=HSXBPoL3lO4LyIoB
  22. The only thing I do not like about Santander DH’ing is his OPS drops .100 in that role, in 2023.
  23. Expect a ceiling similar to Adley’s rookie season, an OPS of .806
  24. It’s going to be very interesting to see how this all plays out. I do feel bad for Norby, Stowers, who could make a lot of opening day rosters. The cutthroat way of doing business says win at all costs. I will look at the Dodgers AAA depth, they are not over compensating the waiver wire for depth. Before knowing, I would imagine they have players in waiting that exceed the Orioles (historically)
