Nice job, ESPN. "Bryan Stowe speaks on camera for the first time! We're not going to give you a link to the video, but trust us, it was awesome. Oh, here's a link the San Francisco Giants' team page. The end."

I am so glad he is recovering and they found the guys that did it!

Also, kudos to Barry Bonds for agreeing to pay the college tuition fees for Bryan Stowe's kids. Whatever you think of Bonds or his motives, that's a very nice and meaningful gesture.

I wasn't even aware that Bonds had done that. Just goes to show how much faster and farther bad news travels as opposed to good.

Bonds seems to be a lot of things. Most of them...not so good. But there have to be reasons Giants fans defend him so ferociously, and the above is almost certainly an example.

Tony, Scottie, Paul :

I know that this is not Oriole-related, but I believe that a lot of posters might be interested to know the latest on this awful tragedy that occured on opening day in California. Perhaps you can let this thread stay in the Oriole forum just until tomorrow morning, and then combine it with the actual thread, which is in the appropriate MLB section. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for your help. :)

Every once in awhile, some person does something that reminds us all: we're basically just monkeys with cars. The upshot, to me, is that we have a lot of work to do - as a race - to reach our potential as compassionate, enlightened beings.

The good thing is, you can see from the interview that Stowe's personality is shining through a little bit. That is all.

Lots of lives ruined over this dumb act of fighting over a baseball game. They go to prison and he's disabled for the rest of his life. Not to mention the kids and families that are affected.

And the Dodgers won that day! What were they fighting about??
