Unhappy Scouts??

So to be clear, this thread is about a tweet where scouts are upset, but no one knows why they are upset.

Heard a couple things from a couple people now (no one directly tied into Baltimore): 1) systemic changes in pro/amateur split, where scouts will be covering both, 2) doing away with advance scouting and reassigning the advance scouts to cover amateur ball.

EDIT -- how many "advance" scouts does Baltimore employ? I mean, you really don't need anyone anymore, with quality video available for evey ML game. At most, maybe one or two people?

Fire them, hire their replacements. Unless of course they are on the protected list, then just ignore them.

I actually agree with the sentiment behind this - just push out the people who have their own agendas and won't get with DD's program. Give them a chance to get with the program, but if they don't want to... buy-bye.

So people are upset that they are being forced out of a job where they are really getting paid to do nothing since technology has kind of made that position redundant years ago?

It's times like this that I want to say hire me, and I won't complain when actually forced to do my job.

Yeah, I'd be pretty pissed if I were those six scouts, too. Not that I blame Baltimore, but going from MLB advance scout to an area scout is a crappy change.
