I'm a Reynolds guy. However, he reminds me of Glen Davis or Mike Deveraux (post beaning) or Jones prior, mostly, to this year. Get two strikes on them and not a good feeling for for Os fans.

For his career, he's got a 509 OPS once the count gets to two strikes. For comparison, Markakis is 646, Jones is 578, and Thome is 635. So nobody's that good with two strikes, but Reynolds seems to be worse than average.

Just to confirm: That's true of last year too? (B/c if it is it still doesn't explain the fall-off this year, unless the pitchers have learned to take advantage of it.)

Yeah. It's pretty drastic. (sorry I can't change the years in the links- you'll have to change them yourself but you'll see what I mean)

If he uses his change-up more, I'd be content with his current mix of pitches. So, yeah, I agree. But it's a feel pitch, and he doesn't have a ton of feel right now.

I don't know how much of this is his choice. It seems to be the plan handed down from on high that the FB needs to be established early. I'd like to see all of our guys mixing their pitches more, I just don't know if theres a choice.
