Jason Hammel Today, 2013

Hammel was getting clobbered in the game thread in those first two innings, and the genius manager wannabes were trashing Buck for even using him. But Hammel kept us in it, and got stronger as he went along. I was kind of surprised Buck yanked him after five innings and 77 pitches.

He's on the list of players who are automatically at fault and nothing they do is good enough.

.

Hammel's 4th career save.

0 walks, 0 hit batsmen, he pitched to contact with a 3-run lead (5-run lead in the 9th inning), and he finished the game.

He also erased the inherited runner with 2 outs and a runner on 2nd base when he entered the game in the 7th inning.

Good job.
