Did they really give him the MVP?

Glad I changed the channel and didn't have to witness that farce.

I told my son when Mo came in, that if he gets 'em out in order and the score remains 3-0, they'll give him the MVP. So even though I saw it coming, it's still ridiculous. No one was an overwhelming choice, but if they were going to give it to a pitcher, it should've been Sale or even Harvey.

Cal was a similar sentimental choice in 2001, but at least he hit a freakin' HR.

I agree. Pedro Martinez, Randy Johnson, and Greg Maddux had much more impressive careers and retired recently. Why didn't they get this kind of reaction?

It matters more when a player stays with one team, see Jones, Chipper.
