Iraq's biggest Orioles fan is seen waving the Iraqi flag inside the country's Parliament building after breaking into Baghdad's heavily fortified "Green Zone," a normally off-limits area housing government buildings.

Baseball: truly an international game.

Guy usually posts on the OH. He protested the Gallardo signing and other protests.

Hate to be the bubble-burster, but I'm pretty sure that "Orioles" means "I hate Mondays" in Arabic. Oddly enough, in Kurdish it means "you have orange on your face."

Any other pictures? I would love to know the name on the back. Also when was the last time they had the black letters?

I could not find any and could find no back story on him.

Maybe he thought he was going to attend an Orioles O's Zone rally and ended up in the Green Zone by mistake.

Join us for O's Zone events and celebrate the 2016 season. These events will include Orioles giveaways, trivia and prizes, an appearance by the Oriole Bird, and autograph sessions with current and former Orioles players.

Oriole Fans are Everywhere

In the last couple of years, I have had the strangest recurring dream about the Orioles.

I have dreamt that up here in Brewster, NY, TONS of high school kids and young adults were all starting to wear orange and black Orioles gear. Some of them were wearing it because they decided to become Oriole fans, and some were wearing it because they liked the colors (orange and black.)

That's a very weird dream ...... especially since I have had it numerous times (recurring dream.)

The State Department brought the Iraqi National baseball team to DC a few years back, and they took in a Nats game. They probably really wanted to go to see Camden Yards instead.

They did make it to Cal's Academy.

The coach, Bashir, said the visit to Nationals Park, which opened two years ago, was bittersweet.

"I understand this is for professionals," he said, taking in the lush grass and rows and rows of seats. "But playing on a rock filled with rocks causes lots of injuries. We are a rich enough country to have something better, but because of the officials and corruption, we will never have it."

The team visited a training camp sponsored by Baltimore Orioles legend Cal Ripken Jr., and met Ken Griffey Jr. of the Seattle Mariners. Often, the names were lost on the Iraqis, many of whom had heard only of the New York Yankees.
