OFFNY
o As I stated in the perfect game/no-hitter thread, it really sucks when a pitcher on the brink of everything loses almost all of it (the potential perfect game, no-hitter, shutout, and complete-game), and has to settle for just a a win. And it sucks even more when a pitcher on the brink of either a perfect game and/or a no-hitter doesn't even get the win. Today, at least Colby Lewis got a complete-game, in addition to his W. There are exceptions to the rule. Harvey Haddix, while losing everything INCLUDING THE GAME back in 1958, has actually gone down historically as more famous for what he did do in that game (pitched a perfect game through 12 innings) than do many other pitchers who have pitched no-hitters. Also, his game actually was recognized by MLB as a perfect game until 1991, when they changed the official definition of what a perfect game was. This is an excellent song (about Haddix and his feat) that I just heard for the first time. [video=youtube;amcg7A_-M-g]
