Klein is a first round talent guy who is most likely going to UCLA no matter what, but if the Orioles could somehow show him the money, he'd be a the third first round talent in the draft along with Wieters and Arrieta.

By the way, there's a good chance Arrieta signs quickly.

Was Arrieta a guy high on our board or did we contact Boras/or he contacted us and asked if he would take $ somewhere between supplemental first and above slot for the fifth pick? In other words, did we know we would sign him for something reasonable, but above slot, when we drafted him or did we draft him first and then try to sign him?

I like the Klein pick.

This is the part of the draft that gets interesting because if you're in high school and get drafted in the late 30's-40's why not continue to college because you've already apparently been scouted and are on someone's radar. It'd probably have to be a pretty convincing argument to get one of those kids to sign.

What is the scoop on him?

Committed to UNC-Charlotte. Very good prospect as both pitcher and hitter. Played basketball also. Some others here can probably tell you more.
