A pretty shocking move for most of here in Chicago. I suspect it was more about him talking about other teams than performance related. He had a bit of a tendency late to say things he probably shouldn't to the media.

When you bring in a new manager, you let them fill out their own staff, imo.  So you fire everybody.  But that doesn't mean that they don't want him back and he doesn't want to come back.  Sure, he's a free agent now.  The Cubs job looks attractive, but I just wouldn't be surprised if he's back as the PC...or manager.

I believe he is fired and gone.

Some with #Nationals believe pitching coach Mike Maddux will be a candidate to replace Baker. Sure to be others as well.
