Strikeouts and walks are a different beast. It’s pretty clear that pitchers and batters can be good or bad at them. No one looks at Chris Davis or Tyler O’Neill and thinks “eh, that’s pretty unlucky to have all those strikeouts, I bet they’re average at it overall.” Likewise, Josh Hader isn’t just preternaturally lucky — he’s good at striking batters out.

Saw this article yesterday.   I thought it was incredibly long-winded for an article that really added nothing new.    In my opinion, Fangraphs has really taken a heavy hit over the last two years, with most of their more interesting writers getting hired by major league teams or by other media outlets.    They are still cranking out a lot of content but it isn’t as interesting or well-written.   And, many of the articles are way longer than they need to be, including this one.
